Happy spring everyone! I may be a day early but this year with the late winter weather, I am very IMPATIENT.
My calendar page for this week is ready. I hope the weather will cooperate too and today will be more like spring than winter. Right now it is cloudy and there was some weather talk about snow flurries.
Hopefully NOT and it will go out to sea south of us.
I found this quote in a magazine while looking for something else and decided that I needed to remind myself that I can make it through this extended winter weather.

Last week I more or less finished up my New Mexico travel journal. Moving from winter into spring means I have mentally moved far enough away from this trip and that I am ready to be done making this journal. Trip journals tend to be like that. You get home, all excited to work, and then after a bit the excitement fades.
So let me share a few arty pages with you. I will probably have one more post with my journal views.
I've since filled in this card with some travel notes.
Now I did enjoy making this journal. Because this is the 4th one I made, I did make more arty pages than I often do in my travel journals. That's something I want to do more of, next time I go off on a wander.
This is my favorite spread. I like everything about how it came out. I will say although I have had enough of snow (and if you stop be frequently you know that with all my moaning) but being away in a different place in the snow was quite the adventure. Maybe because I had fresh eyes on the scenery.

Its been a busy weekend here running errands which have been put off for a few weeks. I was hoping for a more relaxing day today, but there's still a couple of things we need to do. We're going to try to get these chores done early today so maybe there can be some free time this afternoon. We shall see.
Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely journal pages as always, and I like that you always journal about something real. I hope that spring will soon arrive for you, and that you will soon be able to tell us how warm and sunny it is. Enjoy your day. I'm having a rest day, no work, just fun and relaxation. Hugs, Valerie
I think the enjoyment you got from this trip and making the journal shines through your pages. I really like the crows at the end. and the Camus quote went into my quote book. I think we got our wish that the snow went south of us. Hopefully, you'll finish your chores to have your free time.
Happy Spring to you, too, dear Erika. I enjoyed the rest of the photos from your travel journal. Like you, I really enjoyed the last pages you showed. I love the minimal look with the watercolors and birds that contrasted with the colorfulness of the pottery. Hope you found time to enjoy a bit of relaxing this afternoon.
Forgot to mention, I left YOU a comment on Divers and Sundrys' 42 post.
Wonderful corazon in your journal and dark bird/faces about leaving fear behind. Sun shining here, hope it is for you too. Phew, I think we missed it. xox
Fabulous pages, I think I was drawn to look more at your last one with the birds, but they are all so interesting to see. Hope you have had a good weekend.

I love every single page in your journal, Erika. I especially love the ones with the southwestern borders and then the content on the pages. The border idea is a terrific one. What a special memory of your trip -- more than anything you'd get in the gift shop!
What a fun travel journal. My husband and I have been to New Mexico several times and loved it. Great work!

these are such marvelous pages Erika! And a great way to remember special times too. I am moaning on about the snow too-have had ENOUGH! It's spring and there are piles of snow about:(
Thanks for the reminder Erika - I'd forgotten that spring is official now although maybe the weather gods have overlooked this... we had some lovely sunny spring days last week and today there is snow predicted -ok not down in my part of UK but further north - but I would have liked one decent snow day to make it feel like a proper winter before springtime.
Your journals are looking good with wonderful ephemera and details- I guess once you've been on a trip you need to journal it fairly quickly as you have so many wonderful ideas and new/other things to journal :)
