On the Road and In the Air

Hi everyone. We've made it to Thursday already (well just about Thursday if you read this when I post it Wednesday night). My week back from vacation has gotten to be so busy. Not crazy bad busy, but there's just a lot going on. I thought my week was fairly open when I woke up Monday morning and since then my must do list has kept growing.
A fun thing I added to my list is that tonight I am going to out dinner with some girlfriends to celebrate not only my birthday but one of the other lady's birthday too. The 4 of us are work friends and our new plan for this year is to make some social time around our birthdays. We're trying a new Italian restaurant near work and I'm looking forward to this.
So I have another spread in my Taos travel journal today. Once again I am linking up to Art Journal Journey. This month Yvonne is hostessing and her nice theme is Out and About.
My left page is made with a painted background and my right page is made with a bit of an old map. On the right I put star where my trip took me, and I also added a few stamped images, a sticker, and some doodles of my luggage. The 4 is on there because this was my fourth trip out to visit my friends.
The left hand page became a way to record the story of how I booked my airport shuttle for the wrong day. I needed it last week on Thursday evening and instead I booked it for Friday evening. Since my flight was Friday morning, its a good thing there was a lot of space of the shuttle so they could just switch my reservation and I could get south to Albuquerque in order to catch my flight.  I spent the night before flying home at a hotel near the airport  so I could be at the airport shortly after six AM for my early morning flight.
Not everything can go smoothly I guess, but there could be a lot worse mistakes than this one.
That's all for me!  Thanks for visiting.

I'm laughing at your mistake and how easy it was to reschedule. It would have cost me an arm and a leg if I did something like that. I like this page, though, especially because of your kokopelli. I have a fascination with these figures, and have accumulated several images of them.

I like your southwest theme header for this month. Very apropos.

Wonderful memory pages Erika, it was good to include the map, for us to see where you were staying. Gosh you had some luck being able to change your tickets and keep your travel plans on course.
I hope you had a good time out celebrating with your friends.

Your travel journal is filling up nicely, I love how you have used your booking and travel documents on the pages, it really brings them to life! The map page with your additions of the star, the little airplane and lady with all her luggage looking towards her destination is wonderful :-). Have a great time with your friends, it's so cool you are spending more social time together and I can't wait to hear what you thought of the new Italian restaurant. Happy Thursday and birthday celebrations! Have fun! J :-)

Glad your travel snafu has a happy ending.
It is my worst nightmare that I'll get wires crossed and mess something up. That said there is usually always a solution as proved by your situation Erika :-)
Hope you have a fun time out celebrating.
Fun journal page with your Kokopelli and maps always attract me!

Your birthday-with-friends supper plan sounds good. I like Italian food, but there aren't as many Italian restaurants around here as bbq and Mexican. Have fun! :)
