A Song

Happy Saturday everyone. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, yet when I look outside everything is still white with snow.
That's the theme of my page today which I am linking up to Rosie's theme-spring at Art Journal Journey.
I started my journal page by stenciling the designs and then coloring them with my Cretacolor hard pastels. Then I gave the page is wash with some very watered down black acrylic paint, and stamped some faces and some numbers. Those faces are suppose to be me looking out of the winter trying to see spring, and the numbers are all about the countdown.
The problem with counting down to spring is that you never know when it will really arrive.  Hee-hee!
I little white splatter for the snow, some birds and some stickers.
I am loving these singing birds this morning and this blue sky. It seems a little weird that theses feathered friends should be so joyful with all the snow on the ground, but if the birds can be happy, I will be happy about it too.
We are going to take the dogs to the beach today so we can walk which I am looking forward to. Yes, getting back outside into the sunshine is a good thing.
Hope your day is going great and thanks for visiting.

Love the little birds and the faces and countdown. I always countdown to first day of Summer as I find Spring can be a lot like Winter. Cold and wet with a little less snow. Hopefully, we're done on that front for the rest of the season. Enjoy your weekend

Spring is in full display here, but we never get that kind of snow. I'm torn between welcoming the spring and being a bit jealous that you get more than barely measurable snow. I know you'll enjoy your sunny walk :)

WOW, I was hit by color when I visited today. This screams spring. Yes, the birds don't seem to mind the snow, and these in your journal look very happy indeed. Thanks for sharing them with us at Art Journal Journey.

Forgot to mention, please take your camera and show us the BEACH, please. This landlocked girl has all but forgotten what a beach looks like (grin).

So here is another great idea - using hard pastels then giving them a wash with black acrylic. Great effect with the stained glass look colours. The snow "flakes" makes it all stand out.
Amusing about the faces (you) looking out to see Spring.

Bird song is a good sign of spring being on its way. Its a fantastic page and background Erika, the super stamping of the faces I thought added a little bit of mystery to the page.
Hope you enjoyed your beach walk.
