Not to Depress You

Welcome to my world.  We had two HUGE snowstorms in less than a week so we look like January not mid-March.

The dogs like to play in it, but it sure makes chasing squirrels difficult.

I wrote this post last night. They said we could get an inch or 2 more snow from the last snow squalls of this storm.
I hope I woke up to the same amounts I went to bed with.
Yesterday when I was home on a snow day I took some more bird photos. The good news is the male goldfinches are looking slightly more yellow than last week. That means they are on their way to their summer plumage. Can it actually be a sign that spring might come one of these days?

Now the news is saying there is a chance we might get another big storm at the beginning of next week. Please keep your fingers crossed or say a prayer or use voodoo or SOMETHING to make sure that doesn't happen. I am open for anything if it keeps the snow away. We  here in New England are obviously not sending the right karma into the universe because the snow keeps coming.
A snowy March stinks!
Spoken from the mouth of someone living the nightmare.   :)
But the sun is suppose to come out today.  That might mean melting...
Hope your day is sunny, bright and spring like.
And thanks for visiting me. I do appreciate you stopping by.

Even though you aren't happy with this big amount of snow - I adore this wonderful photos Erika!Specially thos woodpecker is just GORGEOUS!
Spring will come soon and I send my very best thoughts in your direction to stop snowing now! Keep a green bow and keep the sun in your heart my friend!
Squirrels must smell fantastic for dogs - my boy gets crazy about each single squirrel. He is a hunter heart, and those sqirrles and the mice at the fields are his biggest hobby the whole year long.
I stay at home today - it got colder again just a few degrees over zero...brrr.
The dogs and I are indoor and stay lazy today!

Oh...that is a lot of snow Erika!
I do hope you haven't had any more over night - it must come to an end soon mustn't it?
Lovely to see all your birds though, I bet they were so pleased to have somewhere to come for food in this weather.
Assuming you'ii be home all day - so keep warm and have some arty fun :)

Your birds are awesome. I haven't had any birds near my feeder for days, at least not while I was watching. I wish I could do something for you, like put a great big sun over your area that pushed the snow away from you and melted what you already have. However, that isn't any more possible than me getting moisture in my yard. Sometimes life (and nature) isn't fair. However, the birds seem to LOVE you!!!

Your feeders sure attract a lot of customers. I was hoping the talk of another big storm for next week, was a bad dream. You heard it, too, so what are the chances we are having the same bad dream? I hope this storm goes far out to sea. Enjoy the sunshine while you can.

Your photos of the birds look fabulous, lovely plumage. I'm sure they must be happy in your garden and welcome the food you leave for them in the awful snowy days you are having just now.
I hope you don't get much more of the white stuff, take care and be safe.

I'm sending you breaths of spring air from the South. May you soon get spring flowers and forgotten snow.

We get goldfinches every once in a while but never on the suet feeder. Am I using the wrong kind of suet? I love your birds!

Sorry about the immense amount of snow you are getting up there. We've had the tail end of both those storms but it melted fairly quickly. One thing about late snows - the earth is warming up so they don't stay as long. Just be happy for your pups who love to frolic in the stuff.

Oh noooooo, but I suppose like everything in life there is a good and a bad side... The bad side is obvious of course, the good side from the way I see it is, that really it looks amazing and your photos certainly demonstrate that, that new lens is obviously put to very good use, really amazing close ups! I'll try and use a bit of good voodoo (is there such a thing?) to try and get Spring moving your way.
Stay warm and cosy and have some arty fun!

Oh Erika, you guys have been SO pummelled. I will never complain again. Well, I'll try not to. That's just grim to the max. Even snow days don't make up for it. I will say, though, that you are raking in some spectacular birds and getting some terrific shots. At least there's something good coming out of it.

Happy springtime, haha! We also have icy eastwind and cold temperatures here!
Your snaps of the birds are amazing! Especially the bird with the red head and black and white stripes, I have never seen!

I know you won't like me saying how beautiful the snow looks.....So I won't! If we had half the snow you had I would be fed up of it too! We had some snow overnight and on and off over the day but it is slowly going now and the forecast is for warmer weather!Hang on in there!!! The birds are a bonus I suppose! We are missing seeing the birds at the caravan! Keep warm, Hugs,Chrisx
