Space Age and Then a Trip Back in Time

Hello everyone. I'm showing you my Night Journal again with another space page that I am going to link up to  Art Journal Journey.  Alison is hosting and the latest theme is Collage and Recycle.  This simple collage is made with some black paint, some space words from a glossary in a vintage atlas that came out of my mom's house when we cleaned it 2 1/2 years ago, a few stickers, a collaged paper star, and the astronaut/planet piece ae cut out of a moon poster which someone was throwing into the trash at school.

Once  I attached my pieces to the black paper background, and the matte medium was still wet, I sprinkled some gold glitter and flakes onto the page so it dried with this cool night sky sparkle like stars on the firmament. Or at least my artistic attempt to reproduce that.
And here's a few paintings of T.C. Cannon that I saw the other day when I visited the Peabody Essex Museum. I was taken by his expressions and those bold colors.

I love the joy and love in this next painting.
And then some strength and almost anger.
His self-portrait. I might be wrong but I think his only one.
And my favorite is this one below.  They said it was the only painting he ever did without someone in it.

So I've been binge watching Raiders of the Lost Art on Netflix. Have you seen it? It's about various famous  artists and pieces of art. It's about missing art and tracking it down.  Fascinating.
That's all for me today.
Thanks for visiting.

Your space pages are amazing! Love your night journal! Great to see this linked to AJJ - Thanks bunches Erika for your amazing support! The bold colours are fantastic , an unique artist for sure. Thank you for introducing me to him!I enjoyed Raiders of the lost art already, not all episodes, since I saw some already as documentary otherwise. But Vermeer and Van Gogh I didn't know and so these were very interesting!
Hope the good weather I sent arrived already!

Great star page. You can't have too much glitter. Love Cannon's bold lines and colors. My favorite is the Wolf headdress. Haven't seen Raiders of the Lost Art. Wonder if they will ever find the missing artwork from the Elizabeth Stuart Garner Museum?

I'm a fan of all things space, and your piece is great!

This artist is new to me, and I appreciate you sharing more of his work. The colors are so bright! It would be hard for me to pick a favorite, but I see why you liked the horses best.

We don't have Netflix, but that series sounds interesting.

I have NO idea how I missed this, but it may be because I am fighting my keyboard. This is a fabulous entry. I always love your space journal, and this is such a wonderful entry for Alison's theme at AJJ. I was most impressed by all the various pieces you shared that were recycled. This makes me smile when I see recycling at its very, very best. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey, but also thanks for doing your part to recycle art!

I have also been to the Essex Peabody Museum in Salem so enjoyed the previous post and this one, Erika. While not all the exhibits are my preferences, there are always some new and interesting things to see. And, the town it’s located in, Salem, of course, has its own history.
