Hi everyone. Happy Sunday.
My husband and I made it home from our big journey very early Saturday morning. Our flight was delayed about 90 minutes in Chicago and so we landed after midnight on what was then Saturday. By the time we arrived at our house it was almost 2 AM. The dogs were waiting and happy to see us. And we were happy to see them too. My daughter was definitely ready to go back to her house, as she left earlier that evening before we even came home. She had a tough week besides Pete and the skunk there was the water heater leak. If she hadn’t have been there when our water heater let go we would have come home to a flooded basement and a big mess. Good thing she’s a wonderful daughter and handled it all so well👍.
Yesterday I was busy trying to start some of the laundry we brought home, get my photos unloaded off my camera, take a grocery store trip and give the dogs some snuggles. Plus relax and try to get back into the swing of “real” life again. After the travel excitement it was a dull but a wonderful day!
Today I have another journal page for Neet's challenge at Art Journal Journey. This month she is asking for us to journal about Fur and/or Feathers. I went with fur this time because cats with feathers would look pretty silly.

Glad you got back safely, and that your lovely daughter looked after house, dogs and leaking pipes so well! Take time to get back to reality! I love your journal page with thed cats, so pretty. Love that you used fabric for the blankets, great idea! I had 2 cats for a few years, and that was more than enough! Have a great Sunday. And I am looking forward to seeing your photos! Hugs, Valerie
Welcome home! Good thing your daughter was watching the house and the puppies. Poor Pete. 10 white cats is so cute. They look like all the poses of my Calli. With that many white cats, every time you dressed you'd look like a polar bear. 😸Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Welcome home, Erika, and yes as exciting as travel can be, coming home, despite all the catching up to do, is just as wonderful. Glad you arrived safely despite the delay and late arrival and sure your daughter was thankful as well after reading about issues at home that she handled, kudos to her. I am sure you will be sharing your adventure in posts to come. My comments will be sporadic as we are off on a trip as well this coming week to visit family in NJ and PA.
Welcome back, Erika! Home is the best, isn't it :-)) The cat page looks super duper adorable. We had a white cat before and she was an absolute diva!
Welcome back home. I can relate to the water leak-that happened at our woods home a couple years ago-I walked in and water everywhere-what a mess that was-and still is-ruined one of the floors.
Love your kitty page too sweet hugs Kathy
Oh, boy, lucky your Daughter was there!!!! No flooding, please, I know that stuff.
And hence, yay to travel and adventures!
Ingo "forced" me to use watercolors. I started with pencils, but have brush-only, too. Do you mix that? Also with normal crayons?
It all looked so good when wet and then... dull after i´d dried.
Advice is welcome, so far: Welcome back home and hugs :-)
A journey somewhere makes good now and then.
We both have a cat inspiration this week😸 Your white casts are cute and the page looks nice.
I wish your next week is full of ideas and things go well 😀🐰
What a wonderful trip! And a wonderful daughter. No fun for her, but what a treat to have things taken care of while you were away. Sometimes dull days are the best kind.
Welcome home!
Thank goodness your daughter was watching the house and the puppies.
Have a good week ahead.
All the best Jan
Welcome home! So lucky that your daughter was there. The journal page is fun and fabulous! 10 probably would be quite handful, but so fluffy!!

Somehow I missed this post. I adore those kitties. Even Bleubeard gives this page two paws up. I love the added texture in the form of the blanket and pillows. This is one impressive page, Erika and perfect for Neet's theme at Art Journal Journey.
I forgot to mention you have a very good and loving daughter. So glad she was there when the water heater went.
Erika, your page is so beautiful and reminds me of a photo that I have taken years ago. Both of my cats at the time were sitting in my packed suitcase, which was so adorable. Also, I want to let you know how wonderful your daughter was to stay at your home and was there for the water heater problem.
How I love this page and what a fabulous set of cat stamps is that that you have. I can just imagine a house so full of cats, all doing different things like the one in the foreground grooming so diligently whilst the three sat snuggled up on the couch.
I would never have thought this was a clean up page with that background - fabulous.
Good to know you are back home safe and sound from your big journey.
Hugs, Neet xx
Well, of course you're going to know I'd love ten white cats! I loved the techniques you used on the blanket and pillows, too. It has lots of dimensions and the cats are darling!
