Thursday Art

Hi everyone. It's Thursday, and I hope  your week has been going well. We've had very hot and humid weather and then some clouds and cooler humid weather at my house. Today it's supposed to rain, but since I scheduled this post, I can only tell you what the forecast is, not whether it is raining or not.. 😏

Today I  have a new piece of art for Halle's Botanical challenge at Art Journal Journey. I've been trying to come up with journal pages that aren't just about flowers but are still botanical. Today's page is all about fruit.

I've started making a small sized journal about summer, and all the pages are made from colored cardstock. On this page I stamped some fruit images directly onto the smooth side of the cardstock, and then I colored them in.  The basket was stamped on white paper, inked and then fussy cut, and I did the same thing with the blueberries in the basket except I colored them in with a marker. I did the same with the bow too. All the images and the quote come from an older Hero Arts stamp set.

To finish my page I used a die and some white paper to make the lace trim, and I also used a white paint pen along the border. Unfortunately when I was stenciling the accompanying page I managed to get a little bit of yellow paint onto the edge, which I missed until just now as I went to write this post.  😒 Ignore it please. The black dashes are made with a black Sharpie.

I'm keeping today's post short, so that's all there is. Thanks for stopping by. Tootle-loo.

A lovely Summer page. The berries are the best of Summer. Cooler temps today. Are you getting the heavy rains? Maybe to enjoy crafting or reading on your porch. I'm entertaining a gentleman today 😉

Fruits are also part of the botanical garden. That's right, great fruit journal page, the way you designed it is so beautiful!

What a fun theme for your Summer journal! I love that you've added all of the different berries in there! Such a cute color theme for them as well!

The berries in the basket look so fresh and vibrant on the lovely background. A wonderful interpretation of the theme.

A berry-merry page! Our strawberry plants leaves look amazing, green and still healthily growing even tho the fruit has been long gone. Now we are wondering if more fruit will form in the fall or we wait til next spring. xoxo
