Hi everyone. Happy Wednesday. I hope you're having a nice week. It has been windy once again at my house and also pretty cold. I can't say November has been mild in any way, shape or form. In fact, look at the dusting of white we had on Sunday. (And I know some of you have already had measurable snow.) Today without any wind maybe it will feel warmer. I hope.
Today I have a new journal page to share with Wendy over at Art Journal Journey. Her theme this month is A Moment in Time. Since I have more than 3 types of media on my page, I am also linking up to Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog, challenge #121. They're theme is always Anything Goes.
I made this page back a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking about my Mom a lot that week as it was the anniversary of when she passed, plus we've had so many cloudy, windy or raw days this month that I guess I was feeling a little dark.
Thinking about my Mom made me think about music as she played the violin, and in music you need to keep time moment by moment in order to play a piece correctly. Put all this together and that's where my page came from.
You can see I lightly inked the background in my ledger journal with grey ink. Then I used a stenciled and a Sharpie to outline some leaves. I painted them yellow and orange. I also stamped this old Penny Black branch with a bird image 3 times. I used a red Sharpie to color the berries on that branch image.
I added the clock stickers from my stash. The 3 leaves in the front are from an old artificial sprig I had. The colors were perfect and they made the page look a little less flat. I die cut the musical notes, the violin and also the cello (or bass). The conductor is an old Postmodern Design Rubber Stamp. After everything was glued down I used an old Technique Tuesday time quote that spoke to me about the story behind my page.
And that's all for me today. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Such an evocative page--the autumnal images go so well with the idea of the passage of time and the images representing the personal memories you have of your mom are enhanced by the background which has an old-time vibe to it. Really well done!
We had snow a few days ago, but it has disappeared. The days are still raw, however, with moisture in the air and strong winds. All the best - David
...Erika, keep rockin' to the beat.
Brrr, it is definitely wintery in your area. Our arrives in about a week. Looking forward to it and dreading it all at the same time!
I like how you used leaves in your journal page. At work recently, we took a walk to gather leaves which we then used in a collage. We used the leaves with other media.
I'm tired of the cold already!
Great work reflecting all this. These times are always so dark, especially when it falls into this time of the year...
As long as we think of them they are not really gone.
We have one of the coldest Novembers, too, was just in the news... Hope your rest-day is nicer and warmer, hugs
Lovely page
Love your page so much Erika! The background looks so fun with your handwritten page and that sentiment could not be any more true! Love the pop of colors with your leaves! We've had a couple of mornings with frost and a bit of flurries about a week ago. I know it's coming! Stay warm!
I really like your journal page with the sheet music as a background and the autumn leaves. The autumn blues theme is fitting. I only had so much rain today, and it was still too warm at 3 degrees. hugs Elke
Good morning, I love your journal page--we have spoiled here with the weather we have a lot of rain coming in though
Think of the pleasure your mum enjoyed playing her instrument of choice, the violin. My late mum loved her piano :)
This is a beautiful tribute to you mom. I know how you are feeling. I miss mom everyday. As far as the weather. Ohhhh let this fall/winter go by quickly. I'm freezing right now. LOL
That is such a lovely page :)
All the best Jan
Grey November weather, with its ominous warning of worse to come, is definitely depressing. I see how it intensifies your other sad feelings.
Such a wonderful page to remember your mom with, love the golds with the black. xoxo
A gorgeous page Erika and a tribute to your mum, love it. We are having frosts in the morning, and I never did get out there to finish all my planting. Have a great weekend, hugs Wendy.
This is a beautiful tribute to your Mom. The weather here in CT has been windy, too. We had a snow squall last week, but it was a light dusting that the sun melted. Too soon to see white stuff, though. :-(
Sorry to read about your mom being gone, mine too and I think of her often. Love the art you create. Truly great work.
A wonderful tribute page to your mum. I'm sure she'd be very proud. Lovely layers packed with fabulous details.
Thank you for joining in with our November challenge "Anything Mixed Media Goes" at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck! x
Beautiful musical page to celebrate your mum, its always lovely to craft with our loved ones in mind, a moment of closeness. Thank you for joining us at Creative Artiste once again
What a great tribute to your mother, Erika. Do you play violin too? Your page is perfect for Wendy's challenge at Art Journal Journey.
Hugs,
Mia
