Hi everyone. I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
Today I am joining Gillena for her Sunday Smiles and also Nicole for her Sunday in the Art Room .
My local botanical garden (Bedrock Gardens) opened on May 12th for members, so I went with 3 friends. We had a lovely time checking out not only what was in bloom, but also what was new for 2026. The woman who manages the bee hives for the garden was also there. I had a great chat with her for a while too.
I love taking garden and close up photos, and so today I thought I'd share some with you. It's always fun to try different angles and see if I can get any interesting photos. Sometimes they work out; sometimes they don't. I hope you enjoy a little digital walk through the gardens.

This really did feel like a peaceful walk through the gardens. I loved how you noticed both the grand views and the tiny details that many people would walk past without seeing, especially that little red ball in the tree. The reflections in the koi pond must have looked beautiful in person, almost like nature creating its own painting for a moment. Your photos also captured that quiet feeling gardens have before summer fully arrives. It is true that gardens change so quickly, which is probably part of what keeps us returning to them. I recently shared a new post on my blog too and would love for you to stop by when you have time www.melodyjacob.com
Tonight I asked an Englishman how he likes being in Australia and what he liked most so far. Without hesitation, he responded the Botanical Gardens.
Thank you for that wonderful walk and I loved especially the skinny red ball! Have a great Sunday, hugs
Botanical gardens are always interesting places to visit, not only for the magnificent plants, but the insects and other wildlife that can be found there. Miriam and I can visit them and spend a whole day filled with excitement and interest and seem to have barely moved! All the best - David
What a lovely opening day for the 2026 season! That abstract reflection in the koi pond is absolutely stunning, and I love that you spotted the hidden red ball in the tree. You're so right about how quickly gardens change—it truly is a different experience every single week
...Erika, it's fun to find things that others might not notice. Make your life a treasure hunt.
You got some beautiful shots! I love the inukshuk.
wow..all the lush green and blooms...what a glorious garden!
LOL! I didn’t notice the red ball until I read Iris’s comment! The I went back and saw it. I was totally just enjoying the walk thru the beautiful gardens. I noticed the cairn. Thanks for your visit.
Pink trillium and redbuds! You're getting me right in the heart with this. What a beautiful garden you have to visit.
the closeups you took are gorgeous. My favorite is the patch of Forget-Me-Nots. I hope the rain gives you a chance to catch up a little and relax.
Enjoyed your artistic close ups today.
Ohhh this is a stunning place. How I would love to visit here. It feels so peaceful. Thank you for sharing with SITAR and have a nice Sunday.
This botanical garden looks very inviting. I would love to spend some time there. Plants are the one thing I never knew that much about, sadly.
Really Erika the gardens change very quickly. Especially when it's sunny after the rain. Wonderful botanical garden, thank you for presenting it to us with your beautiful photos. Have a wonderful week!
How beautiful it is and will continue to be as the season continues. It'll be so fun for you to see how it changes as the weeks and months go by.
Thanks, Erika, for this tour of Bedrock Gardens which we are planning to re-visit this year as it has been a couple of years since we were last there. Thankfully, the weather may stay cooler for a while and the recent rain should improve have helped the flowers.
Really enjoyed seeing your photographs and well done for spotting the red ball.
All the best Jan
Stunning photos. Loved the clumps of grass. Reminded me of my chives! Thanks for taking us again. BTW, Botanica, our Wichita gardens are a member like Bedrock. If you are ever out my way, I will take you and it will be free for you and your husband.
