Snow is Coming

Another good sized storm is due to arrive tonight...through noon-ish tomorrow.

Maybe up to a foot of snow!

And there looks like we'll have a lot of snow next week-

Glad I am heading out of town to miss all that!

Of course, I had my flight booked to New Mexico at 9:30 tomorrow-with a tight connection in Baltimore.

Well I changed that and I am flying today. Heading out of Dodge early. What a disaster trying to do that though. But I did manage to change my flight- between the storm and a lot of New Hampshire schools on vacation-flights were really booked. But I am off this afternoon.

Won't be back until next weekend.

I am prepared.

And I am excited.

So this card today-

The polar bear is from Cornish Heritage Farms. I stamped it twice, once on watercolor paper- which I cut and used watercolors to paint. I also added some Stickles. Then I cut the polar out of the second stamped image on white paper and used some foam dots to attach them so they pop off the page.

Here's the whole card.

I mounted the card on black and then on white card stock, which I gave a quick spray with some Dylusion's spray ink.

This card fits the on coming weather.

I am so sick of winter.

Love a Lazy Monday

Love a non-working Monday.

Love being able to sleep in and putter around in the morning.

Thank all the veterans which is why I am home today.

So I am back into the right season today with a another card I made for Katie at college.

This one isn't quite so silly as the 3 I showed you yesterday.

The image is a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farm that I particularly like. I colored it with Copics and used a Sizzix Frame-lit to cut it out. I mounted it on yellow paper and then onto the card itself. I outlined the image with another Copic just for a bit more depth. The diamond/harlequin pattern is some 7Gyspies Gaffer tape. Then I added some leaves which I cut from a Spellbinder's die and also colored.

I do need to get busy this morning and take a few photos of some recent journaling and some fancy- smancy holiday cards I made yesterday. 

I also need to finish my raking-which I started yesterday-before we get a foot of snow or  it gets brutally cold again-like last week.

I also need to bring Katie back to school today.       

So it won't be quite so a lazy a Monday as I had hoped...

but all that work I am saving for later.

Once I have had my spell of laziness.

There's always things to do and you have to make time to do nothing.

Don't you agree?

Weekend Wind Down

The weekend is in wrap up mode today. I need to clean and Katie has her last shift at the lake for the season-kind of sad about that part because it means we are really wrapping up some of the best parts of summer. Surprisingly, there is a lot of color already starting in the leaves...fall is starting to show its face...but today we are still pretty warm and humid and not the best of days on the sun end...but that's ok. Yesterday we had a great boating day, and my weekend has been FANTASTIC. No complaints. It didn't even seem to blow right by either.

So as I have done the past couple of mornings, here's that same photo just "tweeked" differently on photoshop. This looks more like a minilmalist painting of a sunset...though it is early morning. Not sure which of the 3 is my favorite; How about you?

So here's a silly card I made the other day- I love this giraffe!!!! I'm not sure who made this stamp, but it was in a set I got off of eBay full of older used stamps.  I stamped it in black on white paper, colored with Copics and dusted the white background with blue ink. Then I used a Sizzix oval frame die twice, once to cut out the giraffe (but didn't use the frame part) and then again on white paper and this time I used the frame. Before I glued it down I distressed it. I then added yellow Viva dots on the scallops and added this great saying from Cornish Heritage Farms.

So to sort of quote this card, whatever is on your day's agenda...even if it's just chilling...make it a good one!
