Hi everyone. Wednesday is here-already.
Today we start end of the quarter exams at school. That means we are 1/4 of the way through the school year! And the hubby visits the surgeon today and we find out if he is going to have his surgery tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed. We need to get over this hump and move forward. Plus my daughter has been in Florida for the last week and she comes home today. I'll be glad to see her.
And I have one more Day of the Dead piece for you today. Today is All Soul's Day and is the day this holiday is celebrated in many places of the world.
I used a stenciled and ink sprayed background, then stenciled the skeleton face. After that I then painted and used colored glitter glue to decorate the skull.
Then I added the paper banners and painted the big Memory word.
And today is the second of the month, so it is time for Second on the Second . Today I have some colorful art from New Mexico, which I posted back on March 3rd of this year. I took the photos in the cities of Santa Fe and Taos. You can see them all here:
but here's a few of those that relate to this Day of the Dead celebrated today.
They were on a window so I don't know who the artist was. Sorry, I wish I could give them credit.
I have been playing with my New Mexico photos (which I took last February) and making a travel photo book with them. Guess that's what has inspired me. :)
Have a great day everyone.
As always, I appreciate you stopping by my blog.

your art is wonderful
best wishes for the health issues dear
I enjoyed looking at all the Day of the Dead artwork. Isn't the Santa Fe/Taos area a fantastic place to visit? We've been a couple of times and I would go back anytime.
I hope y'all get the news you need from the doctor and can move forward with his plan. Happy All Souls Day :)
Gosh, this is a tense time for you. I hope the visit to the surgeon went well and you know a bit more about what is going to happen....
Enjoy your time with your daughter.
I am intrigued by the photos on your page with the skull. Are those loved ones that have died? It is good to remember them.
The photos you took in Santa Fe and Taos are fascinating. The heart and the eye symbolism is new to me. I'll try and find out what that means (if anything).
Happy 2nd of the 2nd,
Lisca
Your page is just super!
Fingers crossed that the surgery will happen !
I love to see this wonderful photos from New Mexico again!
Happy All Soul's Day...it's celebrated here as well. At least it's a day off from school
in Austria.

Keep you in m thoughts for your husband's surgery!
I like both your new art journal page, and your second look entry. They are both so appropriate for today. Sugar skulls are such a big deal in Mexico and much of South America.
I've got my fingers crossed this is one less hurdle your husband will have to face, and the first surgery can go as planned.
Thanks for sharing both Day of the Dead inspired pieces with us for your second look on the 2nd.
Your Memory art is just superb, Erika, the skeleton is very fancy and the paper banners are great, both the colourful ones and the people.
This is one holiday we don't celebrate at all here and I am not even sure what it is all about.
Hope all goes well.
Wonderful journal pages with the colouful skulls.
I hope you had good news today.
