Tis the Season Has Arrived

OK, November is just about out of here. Wow, where did it go?
I've been doing a bit of decorating on these dark nights because that holiday spirit has hit me. Taking it slow and having fun with it.
I've also been working in the Christmas journal I made.
A stamp collage. I don't remember where I got all of these vintage stamps and stickers but I was glad to find them when I was going through my holiday stash.
This sock monkey was a postcard that came in box with a couple of holiday gifts I bought online. I colored him, cut him out and added him to my page. On the card was the  sock monkey fact and I thought would be fun to add to my page. I remember when I  was pregnant with my daughter all those years ago one of my coworkers made me a red heeled sock monkey for the baby.

And a little collaged page on the right with some other items like a map tag, a Santa sticker, the polar bears off a diet coke bottle, some snow paper, a stamped Santa sleigh and some mitten die cuts.
I've been digging through my little box of scraps (those pieces too good to throw away) to find all these bits. :)
With hubby recuperating so nicely, I am hoping I have a little more time in December than I did in November.  But then again I know how December can get. :) A lot of fun and a little bit crazy.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.

I absolutely adore your new Christmas journal. You have a TON of very old Christmas seals. I'm super impressed. I think many of them are very old, too.

The sock monkey is adorable, and the mittens on the Santa are the perfect embellishments.

You mentioned a craft foam. If it's the same as I have, it's called Cut-n-Dry stamp pad foam. I bought a sheet on clearance about six or seven years ago. I've only used one small piece with Staz-on, which didn't wash out, of course.

Have a great day and a super week.

Love all the pages in your Xmas journal, glad you had some crafty time. It's freezing here, and I had o go to the dentist today, so I'm happy to be back home now. Hugs, Valerie

Its a wonderful Christmas journal spread. Life takes on a new life in December. When I worked, in school we used to say it was the 'silly season', everything to do yesterday and no time for today.

These are wonderful, Erika! I love the idea of a Christmas journal. I need to go through all my stamps. That's a fun concept!

Thanks for your Gypsy visits and wonderful comments. If you can make all those amazing King Arthur things, you'd find shrimp and grits a piece of cake! (no pun intended!). It's a fast recipe and faster if you spring a dollar or two more and get the peeled and deveined raw shrimp!

I'm bit by bit on decorating, too. For whatever reason I don't want to rush it this year -- but I want it UP! I do have trees with lights, just no ornaments yet, and some other pretty stuff, but hope to wrap it this weekend except for the big tree. Rick is away next week and I want to wait till he's back to decorate!

I'm glad your hub is walking about, getting better and you are able to perhaps worry a bit less. You've been through a lot! Big smiles to you.
