How I Spent my Saturday

It was on the cool side today, and we had a mix of sun and clouds, but since it didn't rain, the day's project was to put in my mother-in-law's dock. She lives on a pond about 30 minutes away from us.
Not that my husband or myself were putting in the dock. I was hanging out and he was supervising. This year the main workers were my daughter's beau and her cousin's beau. And the dogs who thought they were needed to keep the enthusiasm up.
My husband's brother-in-law was also helping out too.
My 83 year old mother-in-law was thrilled to have everyone around for the day.
And putting the dock in means we're into summer, even if it didn't feel really summery today.
But it wasn't too cold to have our first picnic of the season.
And after lunch we went and sat on the dock as though it was a warm summer day.
This my daughter and her beau.
There was just enough of a breeze to blow the bugs away, and when the sun came out from behind the clouds,  it felt great.
I'm ready for more of this summery fun.
And a little more summer warmth too.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

The pond looks beautiful. Sitting on the dock is a great way to spend the day. Not the best weather, but it could have been a lot worse. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Glad you had a fun day outside, the dock looks good. Love how the dogs always 'help'. Here it is thundering, looks like something brewing up. We always get storms with this really hot weather. Wish I could send you some warmth, it's too warm inside my place! Hugs, Valerie

How great that you got out, even if you and your husband couldn't do anything except supervise and give encouragement. The dock looks great and I can see your daughter and her boyfriend are already testing it. She really likes sandals, doesn't she?

Have a fantastic remainder of the three day weekend.

Hello Erika, great to hear you and your husband are now well enough to go out and about, as I've missed the updates while I've been away.
Lovely to see your lovely daughter and her beau.

I'm glad you were in supervising and hang-out mode! When I saw that first photo I was worried.

Looks like a wonderful time with family -- so well deserved!

Y'all did a great job on that dock! That space is a scene I can picture myself in: trees, water, picnic, fun :)
