One Last Animal-for Now

Hello everyone.
I wanted to share one more page for Rike's fantastic challenge-Animals A-Z. Thanks Rike. I really enjoyed your challenge and wish  I had another week to make some more animal pages. :) I think I want to practice drawing and painting animals some more.
So those of you who visit  T is for Tuesday, I told about how one of my dogs had a little run in with a skunk this past Sunday night. For those of you who are lucky enough not to have skunks around, let me tell you about skunks. When they feel threatened they spray a chemical with the most obnoxious odor.  It not only smells bad, but it doesn't go away easily. I wish I could give you a smell sample on my blog post so you can understand how bad it is,  but once you smelled it, you are probably happy I can't do that. So when Pete, my dog, had a run in with the skunk, he got sprayed and then smelled horrible.
YUK!
So that's the inspiration for my page today.
This is Mr. Pete's nemesis.
I am linking this page up up to Art Journal Journey.
I put my effort into drawing the skunk so the background isn't much. But I am happy with my little stinker.
And this is Mr. Pete.
He's looking for his skunky friend because I think he might actually like the smell.
Notice he brown patches.  He is a black dog, but some of the de-smelling cleaning bleached his hair a bit. So until he replaces that hair, he is now more of a patchwork dog.
But he smells mostly better. It will take awhile for the skunk smell to disappear.
Happy Wednesday and it's the last day of February. Already. Can you believe it?

Your skunk page is gorgeous! You painted the skunk really in a way that we do not want to meet this little stinker, who looks cute but at the same time speak to us "do not come near to me"! Mr.Pete cannot believe this fact?
It is good that the skunk smell slowly disappears at the dog's coat, which now is a patchwork hair with black and brown color :)
I am very glad you enjoyed my theme and that you want to draw and paint more animals in the future!
Thank you for linking this fabulous entry to AJJ!
Wish you a happy day! Rike x

One word : A*M*A*Z*I*N*G!
It is so wonderful that you took this mishap - you had so much work with cleaning the dog - and turned it into a GORGEOUS painting and page.
Yes I never have seen or met or smelled the odour of a skunk here, but in many U.S. comedies I could at least see how horrifying this odour must be.
You were a heroine to get that smelliness away! And dogs would like to take exactly this smell as their personal parfume-lol!
Dear Erika! You did an amazing after hosting month again - you rocked the February as well! Thank you so much for all your fantastic support for Art Journal Journey! HAPPY winter brake!

Not sure where this month has gone either ...lol 😉. So glad to see Pete and laugh again about his little stinker incident, by coincidence I was telling my friend about it this morning over a cuppa ... lol 😀. We decided that it's a good job that we don't have skunks here as I think her dog would be over the moon to smell the same ...lol 😀. She's loving the snow at the moment - both eating it and rolling in it on our walk today (the dog not my friend ...lol 😉). I love your page, your skunk painting looks wonderful and those the night stars shining in the background are perfect too! Happy Wednesday! J 😊 x

Having visited te States regularly, I have had the misfurtune to have smelled skunks before, and yes, it is about the worst smell there is!!

Your skunk page is adorable. Too bad their spray is so pungent. Poor Pete. Cute picture of him standing at the door with his toy looking or waiting for his playmate.

Its a super page with the troublesome skunk.
It looks like your sweet smelling dog would be willing to meet up with his friend again.

I am in AWE of your skunk drawing. It is fabulous. You are SO good with these animals and it is very appropriate, too.

Loved seeing Pete and his patch of brown. Thanks for sharing this awesome skunk with us at Art Journal Journey, too.

Hahahaha! I love your painting of this sweet skunk, he is looking a bit sorry that he sprays stinky smells, he doesn't like it either. I'm really sad that you can't send this smell over to me on your blogpost - NOT!

That's a great page and I love it! But I feel your skunky pain. It reminded me of when our Jack Russell Terrier trapped a skunk under my aunt's sold house, the day before the new owners moved in. I think my parents must have gone through tons of tomato juice and bloogy Mary mix to try to get the scent off -- especially before the new neighbors came to their stinky new house!

That skunk has spirit! A little stinker indeed lol I hope it decides to avoid your space from now on, because it sounds like your dog won't be able to resist ;)
