Daiseys

Hi everyone. The summer  heat has arrived here in New Hampshire. It is making the kids even less interested in school than usual. And I have to say that is true for me too. (Smile)
So yesterday I had a fun evening out. Yes, it was an evening out. My school offered us a parking lot picnic if anyone wanted to go. You emailed in your sandwich order, and they ordered you a sandwich, chips and drink. Then we drove up and our individually bagged up dinner was put in our car's passenger side window. After that we drove around the back to one of the parking lots,  parked our cars, got out  with our lawn chairs and sat socially distanced from  friends  while we ate our sandwiches.
It was beautiful evening and it was fun to have a short social time. I didn't realize how much I missed it.
So today I have a journal spread for Art Journal Journey.
Mia's flower challenge goes through the end of the month, and it has been an inspiring one, hasn't it?
It started with some pink paint, some printed tissue paper and this daisey stamp.  I drew and painted the circles, and I also added a tag on the right side and stamped the quote. I also added a few assorted stickers and ephemera.
And Jo suggested I join the Tickled Pink challenge at the Frilly and Funkie blog. So I will.
And that's my art for the day.
Thanks for visiting!

Glad you were able to have an evening out, sounds great and safe. I miss other people just now too, I'm on my own 99% of the time, not good. But I do get lots of reading done. Gorgeous journal page, love the daisies, always so pretty. hugs, Valerie

The daisies on your page are so pretty, and I'm looking forward to seeing the butterflies. That was nice of your school to host a social evening. Sounds like fun. Take care and stay cool.

Super love the font styles on the Right Page! Love it so much that the butterfly stamp created a strong point of visual while also accentuating the whole picture :) Happy Wednesday Erika :)

I am glad you had such a great evening, Erika. Yes, we all miss social times, but things will be better in the future. We just need to think positive.
Your spread is really inspiring, my friend. I love how you created it. Pretty big butterfly and lovely painted circles. Stickers and ephemera are a great embellishment. Thank you SO MUCH for joining once again my challenge at AJJ! Big hugs, my dear friend.

I love daisies, Erika. These are beautiful. The tissue paper looks good, too - and the verse may well be old now but it's still a bit of wisdom. Knowing when to let go is half the battle. Great artwork. You just can't fail with butterflies. Everyone loves them.
Hope work is a bit easier tomorrow ;-)

Forgot to say the picnic sounds brilliant. It was a great idea from someone... it's always good to realise we're not alone, but especially now, when we're all so isolated. Glad you had fun x

What a wonderful idea the picnic was - it must have been lovely to see faces you have not seen for a while. I could just do with something like that to happen right now. Even though I have my partner in life with me, and he is wonderful, I still feel lonely during this pandemic and it would probably bring me to tears to see friends once more.
Love your pages. Such a beautiful colour of pink and how lovely is that tissue with the music printed on it - perfect as a backdrop for your daisies and the butterfly. I like the way you have linked the two pages together and brought the words of that lovely quote into the same big picture by the use of the tiny circles dotted around the two pages.
Enjoy your summer weather, hopefully I ;will sit out this afternoon in our sunshine.
Hugs, Neet xx

Beautiful artwork. And I'm glad you were able to have that social distancing parking lot picnic with your colleagues. (It got hot and muggy here in CT, too.)

Erika, your organised picnic sounds a good idea. I think it would be very cheerful to meet up with friends, even if the rules still had to be kept.
Your journal pages look fantastic and I like how you are using the burlap base layer in the journal.
Stay safe.

I think one thing this lockdown has done has made us very grateful for and realize how much certain things mean to us. It's so easy to forget.

Stunning stunning page spread - I love the hit of colour with the white daisies popping against it, and the drift of the rose pink over onto the burlap. Just brilliant. Your socially distant picnic sounds very clever!

Well, I am just tickled pink that Jo suggested you play along at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog with your brilliant journal page! I'm loving how that pink looks on the burlap and as a background to those sweet daisies. How wonderful to share a picnic with friends, even if at a distance. It's amazing how we are not supposed to get close to our loved ones, yet crowds gather and spit in each others faces and share bottles of wine in our cities as of late. Oh, I'm sure we will be starting all over again... I digress...I'm so happy you joined us in our Tickled Pink challenge!
