Hi everyone. Happy Friday. I'm back today with another found treasure.
In case you missed last week's post with my first cloth journal, let me briefly recap. While looking for some old photos, I came across a box with some old journals I had made and forgot I had. I was really inspired by what I found, and I thought on occasion I would share some views with you.
My book today is a small 3x5 house shaped book. I also discovered a larger 6x8 house shaped book, but the theme on that one is a little different from the one I am showing today.
The biggest thing about finding these journals is that it has inspired me to get back to my sewing machine and to pull out fabric scraps. I remembered how much I really enjoyed making these. I don't know why I stopped, but probably my mind moved onto something else. It is time to get back to making these books, and I am happy to say I have started a new one. More to come with that sometime in the future also.

Wow, what a stunning journal! I can see why they are so inspiring, the designs are so beautiful with the fabrics and trims - amazing 😀. I hope you've had a lovely week, wishing you a happy Friday and weekend! Hugs, Jo x
These House books are really amazing, Erika, treasures for sure!
It's worth showing them, thank you. I'm waiting for seeing more.
Happy weekend you and yours xx
Beautiful and such a cute idea for a journal.
Fascinating! I love the look of this house-shaped book with its vintage fabrics. I look forward to seeing what new treasure you make :)
Wow, Erika, what a fabulous treasure you rediscovered there. It's gorgeous! You used wonderful materials and I love the embellishments, too. And if it inspires you to start sewing again, even better! Have a great weekend, take care, hugs, Valerie
Amazing, I want to hold it!
These cloth journals are quite beautiful, Erika, even without any pages being written on in them.
I was simply in AWE of this book. I could go on and on about it. Each page has details that were simply incredible. I like how you held the book together using cardboard inserts. I really must try making one of these, but I fear mine would never have that vintage feel yours has. It's an amazing fabric book and one that you can truly be proud of. I'm so glad you are doing this again. I can be inspired by your work and look forward to whatever comes next.
Now this is a great little find, I love how you have taken us through the pages and i'm happy to read it's inspired you to get back to sewing. It's my downtime activity, I could not do without it it keeps me sane (I think!! haa haa).
Beautiful little treasure I look forward to seeing new works of art.
Wishing you a super creative weekend Hugs Tracey xx
A treasure hunt that leads to real treasure! This is a great little book of a happy memory of play. The pages are many and the details you’ve added with bits and bobs and stitching and stamping and on and on are such a delight to see. How fun it will be to see your progression of art with a new book. This is amazing!
How fun to rediscover these. This one is terrific and I really appreciated your commentary with it.
This is gorgeous Erika! xx
Oh my you have been busy and by the look of these latest posts I think you have been enjoying your art. These books will be great keepsake items.
Stay safe and well Yvonne xx
What a fabulous little book Erika! Every page is a delight. Looking forward to seeing more, hugs, Chrisx
Great one. Oh, I lack courage. I´ll never grow up, I think.
Really, when I still worked I sometimes thought, "remember to bring this to school... ummm WORK!"
Love your book! Wonderful! By style and ideas.
I do think having no kids keeps me from growing up?
You make me thinking...
Well, actually... having Ingo takes a lot of responsibility, so... I´ll just never grow up?
