Cleaning Up My Workspace

 Hi everyone.

Today I have a page to share over at Art Journal Journey. This month we are remembering Eileen and her chosen theme Inspired By.

I am also linking my journal page up to Creative Mixed Media Challenge. This challenge is optional as long as you use various types of media.

My page was inspired by all the bits and pieces I found when cleaning off my work table recently. This even included the background (made by pouring paint onto watercolor paper and then using an old credit card to get the striped effect) which was sitting in a pile of backgrounds I had made but hadn't used.
The arched window on the background made me think of stained glass, and I thought my background had a stained glass feel.  I didn't want to keep so much blue on my whole page however.
I applied some gesso and wiped it away behind and around the window while it was still wet. I then used some various brown inks on the window itself and attached it. The flowers in the vase were stamped and fussy cut and sitting in my pile, but I added some color to them. The bits of trim and the quote stamped on acetate were also on my pile, but I did cut the quote apart to vary it. And finally, the sun worked well with the quote and looked good on the page, so I added that also.

Hope you like it, and I
hope your day is going well.
Thanks for visiting.

That church window is perfectly detailed! I love it so much dearest Erika! I am a very big fan of stained glass and would love to have a window with it someday when I be blessed with my own house. Sending you Easter hugs dear Erika!

Your page is a great way to use the bits hanging around your work space. Making way for new makes. The window works perfectly with your background for the stained glass appearance. Love that vase of flowers. I really like how you’ve muted the intense color around the window area yet still left the bright colors a bit on the outside of the window. Yes, I really I like how that looks.

Looks like you had fun cleaning your work space. This turned out great and your pieces on your craft table are far nicer than mine. Love how you made it truly look like a stained glass window. Great entry for Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey, too, dear co-host.

Love that arched cathedral window, amazing what we find left unloved in our crafty spaces. The vase of flowers is a very lovely touch. Beautiful.

Hello Erika,
It's amazing how scraps can pile the desk - that is when I'm recalling the time I started to make ATC:s - by hand of course. Now when I make almost all digitally, the table is clean :) Except when I get inspiration to hand paint portraits...
Your art piece is very rich and beautiful. I love especially the case with roses.
The weather is very changeable here, not spring like now, and more wind and rain has been forecasted. Not nice...I wish you have better days there.
Enjoy the weekend and are in safe hands xx

Beautiful page! The textured background using the credit card is fabulous and created such a pretty stained glass backdrop for the cathedral window - perfect 😁. The vase of flowers is gorgeous too and I love the stamped wording. Thanks so much for joining us at Creative Artiste! Hugs, Jo x

The Husband is on vacation, and I'm _way_ behind on visiting blogs. It's not like we're going anywhere or doing anything, but somehow... lol

I like how you made this all come together. Happy thoughts :)
