It's November!

Hi everyone. Happy new month. It's already November. Where did October go to?

It's time for a new challenge over at Art Journal Journey since it's a new month. Let me first once again thank Alison for being such a super host, and also let me thank everyone who joined in. ❤

For November, our  host is the talented Wendy, who (if you stop by AJJ frequently) you know from her blog Wendy's Arts and Craft Journal. Wendy has hosted for us many times before, and it's a fun theme she's chosen for this month. As Wendy mentioned on the AJJ blog page she is trying to avoid winter, so her theme this month is

On, In or By The Sea

There are so many ways to go with this theme, from tropical beaches to under the sea. And even if you don't want to avoid winter, you can do a winter ocean scene.

My first page comes from my love  of beach walking. I tried to create a background that reminded me of the spottiness and colors of our local beaches.  Then I used a definition stamp and stamped it on my page in a couple of colors of ink. I die cut several beach finds (shells, sand dollars, sea stars) from some printed paper. Finally I finished my page with the seashell postage mark and also the sea quote.

I hope you're  inspired to join Wendy this month. Please remember we only accept art journaling, but that art journaling can be of any type. And I hate to have to say this every month, but no cards, ATCs or other forms of art please! 👍

Early last week we had some gorgeous October weather, so I took the dogs to the beach for a walk. I thought I'd finish my post with some sandy views that  inspired my page today.

Have a great start to the new month.

I love your page. I love the colors and the items you might find on the beach. I've never seen a sea star, but I have a few sand dollars and sea shells. I really like that sea shell postmark. Thanks for this first great entry using Wendy's theme at AJJ.

I bet the dog is having a great time, watching the sea coming in and out to the sand.

A walk on the beach is a magical journey of discovery - or at least it can be if you go with eyes wide open! All the best - David

Happy November! Can't believe we are at the end of the year...time really flies. Didn't connect the sea with golden colour, but I must say it turned out really well and I love it.

Great theme to get through the cold, dark days. I look forward to seeing what you create. You're off to a great start. Did you go to Long Sands with the puppers? Sounds like weather today will be the last for a perfect beach day.

Such a pretty page, Erika!! I really, really like the colors; they feel like a gentle transition from fall too. Love the pictures from your walk, reminds me of my childhood when we used to have a grand time playing at the beach during summers. Happy November! Anita xo

Hi Erika can't believe it's November gosh another year coming closer to the end. Your page reminds me of half term Autumn beach holidays with the children wrapped in their woolies as we walked along the shore finding shells and always a gathering of fallen leaves.. The sky always the most glorious of blues. I can almost see the footprints in the sand :))
I hope you are keeping well?? another busy month my end :(( glad I was able to pop on by today.
Take care HUgs TRacey xx

A wonderful beachy page Erika, and great photos. Who can resist the treasures of the sea shore?!

Love your beach page Erika, especially as it is in autumnal colours. I know it is the colour of sand and the things on the beach but it still reminded me of autumn and my favourite colour palette.
Enjoyed your photos too. Pete looks happy.
I never knew what a sand dollar looked like until I went to America. One day my friend's nephew took us out for the day and we went to Coronado Hotel. That led us down to the beach and imagine my delight - I found some sand dollars. Tim and I were racing around like idiots seeing who could collect the most. Thanks for reminding me of a wonderful day out I once had.
Hugs, Neet xx
