Wrapping up November

Hi everyone. Happy Friday. I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday had a wonderful day and didn't eat too much.😏  And I hope everyone, everywhere has had a nice week so far.

Due to a snowy weather forecast yesterday, we're celebrating Thanksgiving today when the roads will be better for driving. Not that we  got much snow,  but who knows how icy or bad any of the roads actually were. Plus it was a dark day so I'm glad I could spend part of mine reading all cozy on the couch.  I did make us a small turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy, and the apple pie I made Wednesday was for our dessert, so I feel like I did do something useful. Grin.

Before I officially move over to the Christmas season, let me first share a few poultry themed decorations I put out for November. The faces here are for Nicole's Friday Face Off . I'm also linking up to Gillena's  Friday Lunch Break.

I've picked up these turkey items over the  years. None of them are heirlooms, at least the turkeys are not. It's interesting the collection I now have, and they are lots of fun to put out for a few weeks. 😏

And before I sign off of this post I want to wrap up Art Journal Journey for the month of November. Thank you Wendy for hosting.❤ I really loved the ocean theme. And let me also thank everyone who joined in.

My last page for the month is this looking down view on a cold shoreline. My scene could be northern New England or even areas of the Gaspe Peninsula I visited in September. If I added a bit of snow it could be a walk someplace near me. (But it will warm up enough today I think our snow will all melt.)

I painted most of this piece, except for all the trees which where die cuts that I doodled in some details, the seagulls which I drew with a Sharpie and the quotes which I stamped.

  Have a great weekend ahead.

I love your decorations, Erika! And your dinner looks wonderful. Rick had to deliver his mom to his brothers yesterday and I chose to stay home and rearrange furniture and bring up the tree so I had my favorite dinner -- just apps! Spanikopita and shrimp cocktail. Sounds terrible (and not nutritious!) but I was a happy camper!

I imagine a few well-intentioned dieters fell off the wagon over Thanksgiving. All the best - David

Wow I love your turkey collection, how fun to decorate with them for the season. I have a teapot shaped like cockerel for some reason, I don't know why. It's been in the cupboard for a while, your turkeys reminded me of it. That apple pie looks yummy. Love your seascape page, it does look cold and wintery. It was a fun theme this month. Have a lovely weekend!

Your painting is a delight. I suppose Thanksgiving is a treat for most, although not so much for the turkeys. All the decorative items in their image show their awesomeness.

I love your art page! It puts me right back in Maine!

Your turkey collection is fabulous! Looking at your turkeys reminded me of some candle holders I used to have. I'd totally forgotten about them. I gave away/donated all of my various holiday decorations and things when we were preparing to move to Ireland, so I've started over and made myself some bits over the years.

Your cozy day with reading and delicious dinner sounds pretty fabulous to me!

The only Thanksgiving decoration I have is a paper tablecloth for the dining room and kitchen tables. I love all your turkey items. There just isn't enough room in the Dollhouse. I hope the driving was better and the snow is now all gone. The weather dudes were doing a long term forecast as to how Winter will go. a La Nina year so mild, but an elastic polar vortex could mean a couple of block buster snowstorms. Deep sigh. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

I love the trees and shoreline foam on your pretty page and that food looks inviting too! So glad y'all were able to change plans to fit the weather and glad the weather didn't linger all weekend. We're having a cool front and I am definitely wearing long sleeves now, lol. xoxo
