Hi everyone. Happy December. I feel like I was just writing Happy January, and now here we are, almost back full circle.
Since it is a new month, it is time for a new challenge at Art Journal Journey. Before I welcome our new host I want to thank Wendy for hosting last month. I also want to thank everyone who took a creative art trip to the water to join in. It was a fun month and I love making ocean themed pages.Plus it was a nice chance to not think about winter. ❤
Today I want to welcome a new host at Art Journal Journey. Not only new for December, but new to hosting at AJJ. I'm excited to welcome Sharon from That Girl Fritchey as our December host. Her scrapbook pages are definitely fun journal designs.
Sharon's theme is SNOW.
Snow is a great theme for December because so many of us are getting or have already had some snow. For my first page I started by stamping the snowy house scene and also the green trees. Then I took a grey ink pad and rubbed it over my page. I purposely left some white spots because I wanted to create the effect that was still snowing in the page's scene.
I then inked the mother and child walking through the snow and colored in their outfits. Since I couldn't get the ink pad all the way to the edge of the page because of the spiral binding, I added some blue holographic tape that I've had since back in the 90's when I did a lot of scrapbooking. To finish, I used a quote stamp from my stash.
Just a couple of dreaded rules for you to be aware of also. We do not accept cards, tags, ATC's unless they are on a journal page. BUT we do accept any kind of journal page. Also be aware that if you link up through social media not all of us may be able to comment back on your page.
Elizabeth and I hope you're inspired by snow no matter what hemisphere you live in and will join Sharon and us here at Art Journal Journey this month.
I'm also linking up to Gillena's Sunday Smiles.

Let us have two homes each - one in each hemisphere. I would love to live in Melbourne from November to April inclusive, and May to October inclusive in family homes in Tel Aviv, London or Prague.
What an amazing scene. I love how you created the background and the slight pop of color for the mother and child. This is gorgeous and I absolutely love this first entry for Sharon's theme at AJJ.

That is a fabulous snowy scene and has a great atmosphere. Makes me feel cold but pleased that ours has disappeared for the time being. Have a happy month. Hugs Wendy.
Happy December, Happy 1st Advent! The page looks lovely!
Love, love, love this page! It's such a peaceful image and the poem/song is a favorite of mine. Well done!
Wow, it's here, the last month of this year and hope it's a good one for all of us. No snow in Nashua, NH, yet, but I am definitely hoping for a white Christmas as I do every year (smile).
Oh my goodness, Erika! Your art journal page is absolutely beautiful. I love the gorgeous stamped image you created and your sentiment is so perfect here. Thank you so much for joining my theme for Art Journal Journey this month. YAY!
This is a beautiful piece, Erika. And did you get the snow you expected? We got some here (a couple of inches -- enough to cover and look pretty; not enough to be annoying. At the cottage they got over two feet! Lovely art today!
I can't believe it's December already. Another year almost over.
Happy you linked to SundaySmiles, Erika

Lovely page! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
...snow can be magical, but locally we are in a drought with snow piling up in the west and east of us.
Beautiful art journal page.
Looks like a blizzard hit your page. Mama and her kidlet better turn back to the house. No snow today, but it is cold.
Such a lovely page.
I wish you a happy new month ahead, and enjoy the remainder of today.
All the best Jan
Happy December to you. I recognize the Artistic Outpost quote stamp from the Midwinter set. Nicely appropriate for your wintery page. Great idea to use the grey ink too. XOX
Love that journal page! Simple, but so descriptive and authentic to a true snowy December day.
Fabulous piece for Sharon's theme of snow, I love it. Hope all is well with you, hugs, Valerie
I Love your journal page

That's a great snow scene Erika. I love how you did it ,well, the effect - I am going to give it a go on some scrap card first of all but will try your method and fingers crossed, get the same or similar result. Love your page.
