Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. It's time for T again over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog, and this week, I don't have any trip photos for you. That may be good or bad, depending on whether you enjoyed the trip photos or not, but I do have some getting ready for the holiday photos instead.
Since it is time for T day, I also have a drink in this post too. 😏 But first, we've had a couple of small snow events in the last couple of weeks.
There's been enough snow to shovel more than once. Welcome winter.
But the weekend before it snowed we went and cut our Christmas tree at the Christmas tree farm on the other side of our town. The yellow sled next to my husband, if you're wondering, is for pulling out the tree.
It was a busy morning when we went. You can see the line of people waiting to get their trees "wrapped" in twine for easier moving. Besides getting our tree, on the drive home we get the pleasure of this pretty panoramic view, which never photographs as well as it really looks.
It took me a few days to get the tree decorated, but it is up and now in its finery.
But ha-ha- for some reason we couldn't get it to stay straight in it's stand, so we have some fishing line guide wires holding it in place. 😏
We have an assortment of ornaments that go back to some my parents' had, one I made in kindergarten and various ones the hubby and I have collected over the years including some my daughter made back in her childhood. It's always fun to put them out, and they bring back some good memories.
After we cut our tree we went out to our local hole-in-the-wall breakfast place and had a good breakfast. Most mornings at home I have a very unexciting protein shake for breakfast, but I love pancakes with fruit so I often have that when I go out for breakfast. This time I had blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage. It was actually more like brunch or lunch because we didn't eat until it was after 11:30 in the morning.
For my drink you can see my water as well as the remains of a mug of hot chocolate I had while I waited for my food. I figured if I was going to have pancakes why not go all out and have hot cocoa too. 😏
And I'll finish my post with a couple of other views of my decorated house for those of you who enjoy those types of things.
Have a great T day and week ahead.

Your tree looks great, so does your house :)
All the best Jan
Roses look so lonely and cold.
The views of the mountains never get old. Your tree is very pretty. I was hoping to put up the tree over the weekend, but it didn't happen. Shoveling did. We were supposed to have a dusting to an inch, but we had plowable snow so closer to 3 inches of heavy, wet, pasty, nasty, slushy snow. Then I was going to put the tree up today, but then realized Himself bought a new television as the big one lost the picture. The TV is being delivered on Friday. The table where the tree lives is right next to it and would have to be moved for the guys to hang the television. So I'll have to wait for Friday. Hopefully they will come early. Your breakfast looks yummy. I'll have to tell Teague about The Farmer's Kitchen next time we travel up that way. We're getting rain for the next storm, I hope you don't get too much snow. Happy T Day
...your home looks great for the holidays!
Pretty tree!
I know we all have no choice about weather, but would you ban snow if you DID have a choice? It looks extremely cold and dangerous to drive in.
I know I would ban bushfires if _I_ had a choice.
wow Your tree looks really beautifully decorated and festive, Erika.
Beautiful Erika, thank you and Aloha
Bad! I like to see other places! ;-)
Yikes for the snow..... It looks soooo cold.
Wow on your tree.
My stupid neighbors had theirs "in", too, right beside our door,, wrapped. Looked like a tall man, I nearly got a heart attack! I bet they do that on purpose.
Sausage with sweet pancake? 11:30?!
I got a new lighted bow by my private PC for Christmas (as all Christmas stuff it will live there all year round. I love this stuff and also I am lazy....)
Hugs! To a happy T!
I really wanna experience snow. I've never seen one ever!
Have a wonderful December!

I love it that you still cut down your tree. brings back childhood memories-and so much nicer to have a fresh tree. looks like a very large one too-loved the views, Larry loves pancakes so I make them for him once a week. Happy new week hugs Kathy
You got SNOW!!!! Wow. I can't believe how much you got. That mountain view is stunning. I miss having a live tree, but I no longer choose to move furniture to the basement to make room for a tree. I absolutely adore your mantel.
Your pancakes look great and now I'm very hungry. Hot chocolate sounds great, too. Thanks for sharing your trip to get your tree and the decorations, as well as your breakfast and drinks with us for T this Tuesday, dear Erika.
Looks like you have all your preparations for Christmas complete, and the snow adds the charm that Irving Berlin dreamed of. All the best - David
Yes, I enjoy looking at the decorations so thank you. And I will share after I get done with mine but it may not be until Christmas week or day, lol. I always enjoy seeing your paddle knob above your mantle and what huge pinecones! I've never seen any that large, how cool. The tree farm visit made me think of how sore I'd be, lol. I'm allergic so we always had artificials but have not put up any in a while. Too lazy, I guess. Your skinny tree looks great next to the hutch and red walls. Have you heard about the GenZ Instagram trend of washing off a real tree before bringing it inside to get rid of bugs? I'm thinking, how stupid is that? Or is it smart?
Fantastic tree! Love it. Happy T Day!
Your tree is so beautiful. And, like me, it is filled with ornaments that really mean something, with things from your family's past and your present, too. Your mantel is beautiful and your drive to get the tree sure brought in some lovely views. I miss not having a real tree (or Rick not having one). That stopped during Covid when our favorite tree lot closed down. And I leave my stuff up so long, a real tree would force the issue before I was ready. But boy, I love the way they look and smell. Your mantel and home look just beautiful. Merriest!
Hi Erika, this is a lovely post, great to see the snow and your tree. You have decorated it beautifully, I love it. Great photo of the street going down, down, down, must be exciting to drive. Have a great week, hugs and Happy T Day, Vaalerie
How wonderful that you could pick your own (real) tree! And I love the snow mountain scenery. Beautiful.
Your decorations are great and very festive.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
We do wish that we were allowed to have a live tree instead our apt, which was OK in the past. But, year we planned to get one, a notice came that they were no longer allowed. We were in a Michael’s store and bought an artificial one that day. Yours looks lovely, Erika, and a great plan to go out for pancakes and hot chocolate after decorating was done.
How lovely to go and cut your own tree, bring it home (on a sled?) and decorate it with lots of memories. I'm afraid we have an artificial tree and no memorabilia, that was all handed to our son whose wife shudders each year when he brings out his turkey decoration. Must say it is the least liked by me of what he has now.
Loved your snow scene with Pete standing looking at the white wonderland but glad we haven't got it here. As yet!
Hugs, Neet xx
Sorry I'm late, but we had a cat emergency during the week and I have been looking after her ever since. Love your decorations! Happy belated T Day!
