T Stands for Some Pre-Christmas Activities

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you.  I'm joining T Day over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog    , so happy T day to everyone who stops by.

It's hard to believe it will be Christmas in just a few days. I'm celebrating a bit early with my family since my daughter is spending Christmas with her in-laws. My daughter and son-in-law arrive tomorrow (Tuesday) and then the 24th will be our Christmas festivities. I'm guessing the hubby and I will spend Christmas day watching a lot of movies (or the new episodes of Stranger Things), and we'll have a  holiday dinner with just the 2 of us.

Last week I finished building a Christmas Lego. This was the most complicated one I've built, and it took me a few sittings to complete it. I wanted to make a building that fit with the first Lego  that I ever built last December. That Lego was a  Christmas train that I put out on display.

One afternoon while I was working I had a blackberry ginger ale, so here's my drink for T this week.
And here's the front of the finished Lego.

It actually is one you can flip around and look into the back too. I wish there were Lego's like this when I was a kid, but then my mother probably would have said they weren't for girls and gotten one for my brother and not for me. So maybe it's a good thing there weren't Lego's like this way back  in my childhood. 😉

I especially like the cool shadow this Lego leaves on the wall when the morning sun streams in.

I also made some holiday cookies last week.

And the hubby and I took a trip to a local candy store one afternoon. I wanted to get some delicious handmade chocolate for the holiday.

I'm including this (above) photo because CJ will recognize this place from some of her Two Old Ladies on the Road trips.

I could have spent a fortune here and even bought some pre-Christmas chocolate for myself. It was tough to refrain. 😉I did splurge a little though, and I bought myself a little bag of peanut brittle. They also make it in house, and it was delicious.

And ha ha, but I never met a Santa who looked like this. 😏

I don't know if he's sweet or rich because I didn't buy one, but it did make me smile.

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday week, even if you don't celebrate Christmas.  Happy T day, have a great week ahead  and most importantly, Merry Christmas to you. ❤ 🎄

We always thought Lego was for either boys or girls — and that dates back to the days when you just bought a big box of bricks, not a kit for making a specific depiction. No matter how many bricks you had there was always a moment when you ran out of some specific one. Also, when you finished you took it all apart so you could do something different the next time.

How beautiful the Lego Christmas house has turned out, and how wonderful that your family is there celebrating together! Great photos of the shop, I would have a hard time not buying anything there either *grin*

Love the lego!!! (in my mind I have the shark coming out of the water cause he "stepped" on a lego)...
My parents owned a shop and had a table with lego for all kids to play - me included :-)
Lovely shadow indeed! .
Hehe, love how we all connect (#CJ). Oh, sexy Santa! An Aussie? Hm. There is nor perfect person-... thankfully? That would be stress for all of us "normal" people...
Hugs to normal and have a great day! And a very merry Christmas!

We just returned from a visit to my daughter and son-in-law and we need to stop eating now for at least a week! It’s ridiculous! All the best - David

You have, in effect, two Christmasses. First with your daughter and then with the hubby.
I am a sucker for chocolate too. I like dark (bitter) chocolate. Or even better, chilli chocolate! I also like dried blueberries covered in dark chocolate. I went to buy some yesterday but they were sold out!
My Christmas will be spent here on my oiwn. Nice and quiet. I will probably invite my neighbour, who also lives alone) on Christmas eve to have some mulled wine and (English) mince pies.
I also have some HomeExchange visitors coming on Christmas Eve, so it will be nice to meet them.
And then I will watch films on TV. I watched Oppenheim yesterday. What a fantastic film! I loved it. Very interesting. I thought it would be boring but it wasn't.
Happy T-Day and
a very happy Christmas

Nollaig Chridheil Erika!
Oh wow, I love your lego house, well done, and the balloon too, what a cool Lego. I had Lego but I really wanted a mechano set and that was definitely not a girl toy!

That Santa looks more like an Aussie Santa, stripped down because of the heat haha And I love that giant inflatable reindeer!

I hope your cookies are delicious, I am making fudge tomorrow - a bit late! And I am also drinking ginger beer at the moment. Enjoy your early Christmas tomorrow! Happy T day! xx

Your Lego set is very cool. My mother would have said the same thing that it was a toy for boys. I love the Kellerhaus. You could get lost there for hours. Are they still selling ice cream or is that over until the Summer. Maybe Santa looked that beefy in his younger days and before Mrs. Claus' cooking put some weight on him. Enjoy the holiday with your daughter and her hubby. We're also looking forward to the new Stranger Things episode. Happy T Day!

In Germany we always celebrate Christmas on the 24th in the evening, Christmas Eve. It's when we exchange presents, go to church if we choose (I always enjoyed midnight mass). This is followed by two Christmas Days - in my family the first one was for the big meal (the traditional meal is goose, but we never had that since my mom said it's too much work and the kitchen is a horrible mess afterwards) and the second one was visiting my mom's brother and his family who lived in a town nearby. Beautiful memories.
As children we had Lego, but just the regular bricks - all those sets weren't available at that time. My parents never made a difference between toys for boys or girls, and my brother and I often played together with the same things.
This year we will stay home. My husband is off until January 5th, so we will just hang out, watch the extended version of The Lord of the Rings (that alone will take three afternoons), take some walks and spend time with friends.
Merry Christmas, Erika.

I just got my first Lego set tonight -- a cat -- which Cam (7) thought I should have because it looked like Lizzie. Or, as much as a lego set can look like a real cat. And of course, he put together half of it! Now I have a lot of pieces spread out on the table and a commitment to finish and send him a photo. I hope I'm up to the task!

Meanwhile, (I hit send instead of space) I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow. I love every photo here -- looks like a grand time in the making. (And I am jealous of your Lego skill!)
