Friday

Hi everyone. Another week is flying by. I've spent a good chunk of mine doing some spring cleaning. Not exciting at all, but it always feels good once it's done. I hope yours has gone well.

Today I am joining Nicole for her  Friday Face Off and also Gillena for her Friday Lunch Break . I'll also be joining Elizabeth over at Art Journal Journey. I thought I would share some more photos of some pages from my latest trip journal (from last fall's trip to Nova Scotia) because there are lots of faces here.

I had a park map I wanted to include, but it was way too large for the size of the journal, so I folded it over and added some bits to it. Those included some stamped and colored glasses, a die cut beaver and a die cut leaf as well as the backing of a collectible pin. (My husband collects pins from places we travel.)

On the left side of this next spread I ran off an image of the sign from where we had lunch in Bar Harbor before catching the ferry (for Nova Scotia). I layered it with some other papers, and I stamped the chef and fussy cut her out. On the right side I used some watery looking tissue paper, some letter stickers, a stamped word and a few plastic droplets to make it look like some water splashed on the page.

On the right side on this next spread I did a lot of brochure cutting up. I also had picked up a package of used Canadian postage stamps while on my travels and lucked out that there was one for the citadel.  I also bought the sticker because we heard the noontime cannon go off, and I thought this sticker was pretty fun.

On the left side of this next spread I stenciled the background, did some brochure cutting up and also die cut the hat.  On the right is a postcard, and underneath it is a page with some stamped phones, a die cut phone and also a chipboard plane, even if you can't see it all that well.

On this final spread I have another page from the beginning of my journal when we were in Bar Harbor. One of the first things we did was visit Acadia National Park. We had bought the dogs orange bandannas, so I drew one for the page and added a couple of stickers. On the right I also used a couple of stickers. I was very excited to find one (the signpost) that listed all the places we actually visited. The fox sticker was from my stash.

That's it for me this post. Wishing everyone I great Friday and start to your weekend.

I love each and every one of your Nova Scotia collages (one of my favourite provinces to visit!) As a Canadian, I spotted that beaver right away in the first one, LOL!

OMG. I love the eyelashes. Those really are wonderful. Spring cleaning here too. Even the birds are out today and this morning the windows are open. Wishing you a fun weekend ahead. Cheers, Ivy.

This is very creative. The best I do for recording my trips are journal entries and blog posts. I've only been to Halifax, but one day hope to travel more extensively in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland

It is a privilege to hear stories from people who live in four-season countries. My country, Indonesia, has only two seasons, namely the dry and rainy seasons.

I wish I could touch snow someday abroad. By the way, I love collecting pins from different countries. Even though I have never been abroad,

I have received some pins as gifts or through exchanges with friends there.

Art is everywhere you look for it :-)) I wouldn't have noticed all those stuff you collected, but you have transformed them into some beautiful art.

Your pages just made me smile. All the little bits and bobs are so perfect and clever. I hope you don't get a lot of snow today.

What a delight to peek into your travel journal! I love how you bring each page to life with layers of brochures, stamps, die cuts, and even your husband’s collectible pins, it really makes me feel like I’m walking alongside you through Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor. Your attention to small details, like the water splashes and fox sticker, adds such personality and charm.

I just shared the first post for the Movement Link-Up, and you can start entering from today:

I can’t wait to see your post and link up so we can all read each other’s stories and keep moving together.

Your Nova Scotia travel journal really comes along. I like the ideas you're having and the different techniques you're using. When it will be done, it will be a great journal to bring back wonderful memories.

Spring cleaning? We keep the kitchen, bathrooms and family room very clean every week, but the rest of the house is barely touched except when the cleaner comes every Easter/Passover holiday.
We are both too old to be on our knees, scrubbing!!

This journal is awesome, Erika! I love seeing assortments of memorabilia assembled in such journals, but can't seem to put it together when it's me creating them, haha. It must be wonderful to revisit memories from your travels when you look through these pages. Hope the month is coming along well. Anita xx

Wow, lots to catch up on from you this week, or maybe it seems that way because I only post once a week, lol. Love the Valentine art, Steampunk art and the tags. That bread looks delish as does the chicken tenders. Your closet of journals is amazing, and your Nova Scotia journal is very entertaining and interesting. You got some great ephemera on that trip. Glad your bees are still hanging in, but I'm a bit confused about the dog bed, can they not each have one? Enjoy your warmer days. We've had some this week but supposed to get a front Saturday night. xox
