A Little Chick

Hi everyone. Happy Wednesday. I hope you're having a good week.

Today I have a journal page for Chris' Spring challenge over at Art Journal Journey. There's still another several days of March to go if you're inclined to join in. In another week it will be April, which I hope will bring a lot more spring-like (and a lot less winter-like) weather in my area. Thank you Chris for a spring themed challenge because it's the closest I've gotten to green leaves and spring flowers yet. 😏

My background paper was white, and I gave it a bit of a splatter.  I had some wide map washi tape which I used on the top of the other side of this page. The tape was wide enough that I folded it over. On this side the image is upside down but that only makes me think how spring can be...not really spring but still back in winter.  😉

I took some printed paper and die cut what looks like a small sheet of paper ripped from a spiral bound notebook. I stamped the grid and the lines on the top.

After adding that to my page. I used  the frame and some leaves from a couple of different 49 and Market sets.  The chick is one image from an old Easter set from the former stamp company Cornish Heritage Farms. I didn't think my page, which I was trying to make look like spring, didn't actually look very much like spring. The chick did the trick. Then I added a button and also an orange paper clip. Both happened to be sitting on my work table.

I suppose a "hello" quote would work on this page, but I left the page quote-less mainly because at this point there wasn't much room for any words.

I'll end this post with a couple of photos from last Saturday when my husband, the dogs and myself took a trip up to check on my mother-in-law's house. The snow had finally melted enough that we could get in without snowshoes and since the road was surprisingly not really wet, the dogs and I could take a nice little walk.

Plus there's a slight bit of ice melt along the shore, but there's still a way to go before ice will be out.

Have a great day!

There is something about a walk at this time of year, when the sound of water dripping from the trees is constant, that is particularly pleasing, and the ice begins to recede on the lakes. It’s one of the benefits of living in the north. All the best - David

Your little spring chick is as ready for spring as you are :-) We had a couple of spring-like days, but this week is chilly and rainy again. I was out at 6 this morning to bring in the trash bin--once it was empty it was blowing around in the sharp, howling wind. How glad I was to get back into bed and under the covers! Happy Wednesday!

Good morning I love your journal page-so sweet. Sorry you still have winter there-must be depressing that Spring has not come to stay yet- we have summer temps again for a couple of days

That's such a cute spring chick page! I love the green leaves and that little green-ish button there...a really nice touch.

Cute little chick. The frame remind me of something grandma would use to frame the current school picture. Looks like it will be August before ice out. Supposed to be a little milder today. At least no snow.

Such a cute and happy page and yay to the snow being gone and rain on the way!
Oh, you got me wrong on T-Day....
I sadly could not speak of heat as it was too cold!
Last time we had 108+F and this time it was but around 98... Shortly before we took off in Germany on FB-news they spoke of nearly 122.... What a disappointment! ...

That chick is delightfully seasonal. Seeing your MIL's house makes me wonder about when the ice will go out on our lake. I'm thinking late April.

Your mother in laws house looks like someplace I would like to live! Love all the waterfowl pictures from your previous post. We have had an owl in the area for about a week now, have not seen it, but we can certainly hear it!

That's a very spring like page with that cute little chick. I think not every page needs a quote, they can also speak for themselves, like this one certainly does. At least the snow is melting in your area and I hope it will get more like spring. It might be that we'll get some rain next week - I wouldn't mind at all. The longer in the year we get rain, the later fire season will start. Have a lovely Wednesday! Hugs - Carola

I can see where a little hello could work nicely but that said, the little chickie is super duper cute either way. Really pops!

A "Hello" quote would fit, but your page is really beautiful. Another great entry for Chris' theme at Art Journal Journey.
