Blogger's Challenge-Think Spring

I haven't uploaded any cards to Blogger's Challenge for quite awhile now. Actually, haven't made all that many cards until this past week.
But here's a little spring card.
Prickley Pear - Cling Stamp - 6 Chicks in a Row
These cute little chickies are from Prickley Pear stamps. I don't know who made the saying stamp. It was a stamp I won on eBay eons ago which I thought would be a fun addition to the collection.
I think it woulds great here.
Thanks for stopping by my page!

Blogger's Challenge

This week's theme at Blogger's Challenge is Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa. Since I've got a few new cards in my photo stash, thought I would play along.
There's something about a blue and white snowflake card and Christmas...
I die cut the polar bear-this fun Die-versions die...the snowflake is from Cheery Lynn Designs and the stamped words are Paper Smooches. I inked the snowflake embossing folder (Sizzix) and then embossed some white paper- I think the effect you get makes a great background.
Pretty simple and basic, but that's the kind of cards I like.
Hope you enjoy my card
and thanks for stopping by.

Blogger's Challenge

Blogger's Challenge this week is for fall cards.
Makes sense since this weekend is the start of autumn.
Mixed feelings about that-
I LOVE fall but it means the end of summer and it means we're getting closer to winter-which I don't like.
But fall is such a beautiful season, and I am glad to get into the fall weather, the cooler temperatures, beautiful leaves and yummy fall comfort foods.
Try to ignore the craft sheet background on this card, but I decorated the cardstock with tape, part of book pages and some Dylusions spray brown ink.
The image is from Chocolate Baroque.
I like images always pop when back on black paper, don't you think?
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

Blogger's Challenge

I haven't played along with Blogger's Challenge for quite a while.  Either I never got around to making a card or didn't have anything made but never posted to add.
This week, however, I do. The theme is using dies, and here's a card I made last weekend during a couple of mega-play sessions.
My photo isn't the best, if I don't catch the sun I have to photograph under the light and I never get the angel right when I do that.
And the dies- Cheery Lynn for the doily and leaves, Sizzix/Tim Holtz for the tree and Paper Smooches for the clouds.
I also used an Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card stamp (logs) on the background.
The tree is my favorite part. I first
used a doily stencil from Crafter's Workshop to  spray through and then cut the tree.
The leaves are colored with a Copic- they are from the branches that cut with the doily from Cheery Lynn.

Japanese Garden Lace die
The owl is a little Hero Arts image- I made the eyes by just adding a dab of glue on them, and words are made from Tim Holtz little matchbook letter stickers. Then I outlined the edge of the card, distressed it a bit,
and voila.
Thanks for stopping by and checking it out.

Blogger's Challenge-In Bloom

A double post this morning.
Here's a card I recently made for Blogger's Challenge.
I started with a blue background and then used  yellow Distress paint to stamps the dots on the background.
Then I used this sunflower die from Sizzix to make the big flower. I painted the different parts and attached it. Then I repainted areas with some Stickles, both green and yellow.
I added the stamped image and also added some Viva paint pen dots.
Once dry, I  added the clouds ( Memory box die) and the hummingbird (Cheery Lynn Designs).
Simple, sweet and bright.
Thanks for stopping by.

Need some color?

I do.  It has been super cold lately-down around 0 (Fahrenheit) at night with about a foot of crusty snow on the ground. The days have been pretty nippy too-that cold Canadian wind, and the ocean humidity...Brrrr.
Oh yes, I knew this would happen eventually. We were lucky last year with hardly any snow but old man winter does show up eventually.
It was nice having a short week back to work after the holiday break but since I am still trying to get over my holiday ear/sinus infections, I am glad to have a weekend down to finish re-cooping.
The little bit of art I have been doing lately involves bright colors.
These flowers particularly cheer me up.
Images are from Flourishes Clear Stamps-BLOOMIN' AUSSIE FLORALS.
. I colored with Sharpies and then cut them out, did some layering on the bottom flower and then added a bit of Stickles to the centers.
Here's a slightly crooked view of the whole card. I used a Quickutz embossing folder on brown paper bag paper to make the center piece and the just because came out pretty cool with a slightly 3D effect. This is also from a Flourishes stamp set-Inside and Out Just Because.
(Fun set- this phrase is large and then there is lots of choices to complete the idea.)
To make this I started by stamping and embossing the words in pink embossing powder. Then I used my finger and rubbed some light brown ink over it, then some dark pink ink to color the whole area to give it some extra depth. Then I took a white pen and outlined the words.
Finally, I stamped little matching pink ink dots on the background card stock and added a bit of contrasting ribbon and some Viva white paint pen dots.
So any big Saturday or weekend plans? Not me. Still in take it slow mode-but think today I need to run errands.
So exciting, eh?
Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by.
