A journal page today to celebrate my first day back to work after a long summer break. I have no students today as it is a teacher workday. The darlings don't come back until next week. But I am breaking myself in and getting to work early- I have my classroom to set up and a zillion meetings, so it will be a long and busy day even without the kids.
I used all kinds of assorted pieces to make my journal page. The background is layered, stamped and painted.
I did manage to have a great last day of vacation. I stayed home, took a walk, read a book in my hammock, baked another batch of zucchini bread and made some art. And I loved every minute of it. :)
Even though I've spent half my summer doing this, it doesn't get old.
What a face! She's going to miss those morning strolls but maybe we can start taking some afternoon walks once the weather cools a bit. And we still have the weekends.
She'll like spending more time at doggie daycare though.
The sun sets on another summer break.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!

lol, I like the words you put on your journal. Slow down a little bit!

Fabulous journal page Erika, made me smile about the time.. it always seems time goes even faster when you want it to slow down - but why :)
Sounds like you did well on your last day and crammed loads in.
But at least its nearly the weekend again and just to cheer you up further its 4 months until Christmas day too :)

Uggh with you. No fun after all the wonderful adventures you had this summer. Maddy looks content, she'l l enjoy doggie daycare AND her time with you both. Great journal page. I was thinking that the pocket watches reminded me more of a ball and chain...chained to your desk. xox
Your "last day" sounds absolutely idyllic. Hope you have many more days like that.
I like your journal page, it says it all in words and art, and I do like your appeal to Time, but I don't think Time is listening to any of us.
Wonderful photos, especially that Sweetie of a dog, she's smiling! Great journal page, too, have fun back at school. School began here yesterday, and as it's so hot they only do a couple of hours and then get sent home again! No air conditioning here. Hugs, Valerie
Its a wonderful page to show your returning to work after the holidays. You have stored many happy summer memories and I;m sure your lovely dog will be enjoying herself while you are at work.

Hi Erika!
First, thanks for hanging in with me while I was MIA. I'll be gone a bit for about two weeks, then back to a regular schedule. Meanwhile, I have a lot of catching up to do! This summer has flown by so fast... I wish it would never end!
School has already started at the University, but the K-12 schools started today (Thursday). I simply adore your journal page. It's incredibly colorful, which shows you are still upbeat and having fun.
That water looks good. I know you are going to miss it. Sure doesn't seem like you had a very long vacation this summer, but you certainly made the very most of it. And you packed a ton into your last day, too.
oh my,your school page its wonderful, remind me of my schooltime.
the place you lived is amazing, love the water full og power and magic, love the sweet dog too,she is smile.
have a great weekend.
hugs jenny
Your art page shows exactly what you say about time, and the color RED gives a little anger - for summer-holidays are over.
The smile of your doggie is fabulous!
You enjoyed an wonderful last day - am I right?! Wonderful! And the page is great! Always good to have a journal as a friend to put in our thoughts and fears and love and all! She is a beautiful and happy dog and lucky to have such a wonderful life with you!

Beautiful water shots with your doggie!
AND your back to school page is super Erika.
All of your colorful details really draw me in.
Great background and the "vintage" boys with their books is great.
