Stripes

Hi everyone. There's a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, my favorite color combination.
Well I seem to have gotten into tag making frenzy lately, and one of my tags is a really great color combination.
Pink, orange and turquoise.
So I made those colorful stripes on my tag using a homemade stamp. A while back I bought an unmounted stamp sheet  and on the edge of the sheet was this raised rubber margin. Instead of throwing the margin  out, I cut it up and glued the pieces down on some cardboard and made myself some new stamps.
You can see how I started this tag

Its nice not to waste something and to get something fun out of it. My unmounted sheet gave me more stamps than I thought.
Thanks for visiting.

I really love you idea of making a stamp from the edgings. Must try that

Thank you for joining us at Tag Tuesday

Waste not, want not - love your home made stamp and the gorgeous tag you made with it. Thanks so much for joining us at Tag Tuesday, much appreciated! Held does mean money, that's true, and my quote meant, "I was young and needed the money". Have a great afternoon, hugs, Valerie

WOW, that's a brilliant and colorful tag. I think Val and Chrissie have started something with their tags. I'm not a tag maker, but I'm caught up in the process, too.

LOVE the new stamps. I had some UMs I had to trim. I tried to make a stamp, but mine was just waste. Your raised portions came in handy, and I actually like it better than some you can buy. What a great addition to your stamp collection.

BTW, the little guy you referred to is a Kokopelli. Yes, southwestern and very popular among the natives because it's supposed to be a fertility god. However, there are also various representations, too.

The colors look great together. Clever of you to use the rubber waste to make your own stamp.

I didn't see the news about the Ohio State Fair ride this morning, but Sally and I were talking and she told me about it. Talk about deja vu. When I was small, my grandparents took me to the state fair. My grandmother wouldn't let me ride any of the rides because she was at a fair when she was young and saw a similar (to the Fire Ball) ride break apart and whirl people to their death. Four people in the part that broke off and they all died. She told me the rides weren't safe, and she passed that fear onto me without even realizing it. I've been afraid of rides ever since. I even resisted going to Disneyland because I was so afraid of the rides. Of course, I DID finally go, then went to Disney World to prove their rides were harmless. I still hate Worlds of Fun and Six Flags, although I've been both places. Seems they are better inspected than the local and state fairs are, though. Thanks for your comment as it brought back such fearful memories to me this morning.

What a great idea, to use the edges to make your own stamp. I actually like your design better than some bought stamps I've seen.

A delightful summery tag, and what a fabulous idea for creating your own stamps with leftover rubber cut-offs. I've just got some stamps ready for mounting and I'll certainly follow your inspiration - thank you for sharing your brilliant idea!

Your tag is beautiful, the colours are fabulous! I think you did an amazing job recycling those rubber pieces to create your new stamps and the design looks so cool πŸ˜€. I adore the little dragonflies too. Happy Friday and have a lovely weekend! J 😊
