Summer Love

Hi everyone.
Today I have a Summer Love page for Elizabeth's challenge over at Art Journal Journey.
Summer here where I live in New Hampshire is usually about slightly cooler nights, perfect to enjoy a campfire or fire pit fire.
Sitting outside at night means you get to look at the moon and the stars.
So that's my journal page for today.
I used a Gelli printed page as my background. I picked this one because of the moths and butterflies on it, especially the big lunar moth on the top right.
The evening bugs are often attracted to light of the fire.
The page was a little pink so I used some purple ink to darken it up a bit. When the purple ink was still damp I rubbed a lot of it off to you could still see the background images.
The fire is painted, and the wood is a piece of wood printed paper cut into logs.
We had a fire in our fire pit over the 4th of July weekend. I took this photo early, before it had gotten dark yet. I was warming up my toes.
Its already the middle of the week. Hope everyone's week has been good so far.
Thanks for visiting.

Love all the texture on your page. Cool flames. What a beautiful firepit. That must be a really pleasant way to spend an evening.

This reminds me of tonight. I entertained in my back yard and cooked in my chiminea. It was fun, but hot as hades. At 5 pm it was 102 F and the "feels like" was 105, so not a whole lot of humidity. So naturally, I fell in love with your journal page. I loved the fire and the moth. I saw lots of flies, but no moths or butterflies. So glad your fire was more civilized. I simply adore this page and thanks for sharing it with Art Journal Journey.

Your campfire summer page is ADORABLE!
So clever made! Here we have the same fresh summer nights always - I often use warm socks and a winter pyjama - my family calls me crazy, but what shall I do when I am freezing ?!
Thank you for another fantatic idea linked to Elizabeth's fabulous theme!
Happy Wednesday!

Love the colors you used on journal page, especially the fire. Have never tried a gelli printer. Your comment and pictures brought back memories. Years ago we visited a friend with a fire pit. I struck a pose similar to yours. I kept saying on the way home we had to get a fire pit. It wore off later that night, when I found the soles of my feet were eaten alive by mosquitoes...I cooled to the fire pit idea very quickly. Have a great weekend.
