A Little of This and a Lot of Nothing Much

Happy mid-week everyone. Its suppose to be another hot day in New Hampshire today. I think it's been warmer and more humid the last couple of days than it was almost all summer.
I am ready for a little more fall weather for sure.
So did I mention I've been having some chronic hives lately? Anyhow, I got to work yesterday I was pretty swollen and itchy, so I called the doctors. Surprise, they were  actually able to get me in that morning, so I left work and ended up taking the day off. Hopefully their suggestions will work or at least tie me over until I get to go see the specialist in mid-October. It was however not what I expected my day to be like at all. On my way home from the doctors I went the back roads up along the Merrymeeting River on the other side of my town, which was quite pretty. Here's a few photos.

I also have a tag to share with you.  The theme at Tag Tuesday right now is Steampunk.

I made my tag with a lot of stamping, some fussy cutting, a bit of die cutting and a little coloring.
So yesterday the heat and the itchies didn't exactly motivate me to do much, so I spent quite awhile on the hammock reading. It felt like August again. My latest book club book is this story of one girl's life during the days of Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Wow. It is a really sad story but the author is an excellent writer. I can't image a child going through not only the starvation and losing both parents as well as some siblings, but to also be trained as a child soldier.  It goes to show you how scary the world can be, but how strong the human spirit of endurance is.
This is also the book that inspired the latest Angelina Jolie film, which I have not seen.
Truthfully I am not sure I want to see it either.
But I highly recommend this book, as tough as some of the reading is.
That's all for me today.
Thanks for visiting.

Hope you're feeling better. Itchy hives not fun especially in hot, uncomfortable weather. A hammock sounds like a good place to be along with a Benedryl cocktail. Love the steampunk tag. Just love the gears and the quote.
Some very pretty scenery in your area. Just a hint of color. I imagine the color will be spectacular in a few weeks. Have a good day

I feel so bad for you and your hives. I can't possibly imagine the pain you must endure. If there was something I could do for you, I would. Just my luck, if I tried to buy you some calamine lotion, I'd end up getting Pepto-Bismol (both are pink in case you didn't get the reference).

The leaves on the trees across the river are really turning, aren't they? Seems you live in such a beautiful area. We don't get that kind of beautiful autumn color where I live.

I am in awe of your tag. It's a genuine beauty. I've never really "got" steampunk, so I'm most impressed with your entry. Have a super Wednesday and PLEASE feel better soon.

Stunning photographs. Sadly, there are too many of those stories, more disturbing than fiction..because they are true. Let's hope for a better world. Hugs.

What a peaceful landscape - pretty much like her in our region. I hope they can help you soon - sound not nice!

I checked that this film is available in German on Netflix . I will watch it - even though I think it is hardcore mode.

I hope that the dr suggestions work, and that the specialist has an answer, and that you feel better soon.

You have had quite a day, I hope your skin problems and itching are easing and the doctor gave you some good advice.
The photos you took on your journey home look beautiful.
It's a fabulous Steampunk tag and a super quote as well.

Well, hives sound seriously crappy. I hope whatever they did for you is effective.

But I think it's great you took the scenic route -- I do that too, sometimes. I know what you mean about the book and movie. I've been glued to Ken Burns' Vietnam series. It's tough and very poignant viewing and well done. Interesting to show just about every single viewpoint that existed on all sides. It feels extremely timely, these past few weeks. His studio is Walpole, NH, I think. Is that near you?

Love the steampunk tag!

What a wonderful steampunk tag - love the Tesla figure and all the great details you added!!!
Hope the hives get better soon - I have problems with lip swelling - it's so frustrating, isn't it?!

So sorry about the hives, that stinks.....hope they can figure out what's causing them. Nice shots of the river, this is when wilderness really gets pretty as the colors change. Don't know if this will work, but poison ivy soap worked on bug bites and poison ivy, maybe it will help the hives. xox

Your tag is amazing! I love all the different elements you used and the design 😁. Your photos are so pretty and now you have me imagining what the trees will look like in all their autumnal glory and maybe a moose happily enjoying that spot of water too 😀. Thanks for capturing my imagination and have a great day! J 😊

Such lovely photos of a really beautiful lake scene - that must have cooled your thoughts at least, if not your skin. Hope it will all settle down soon. Love your steampunk tag in elegant neutrals.

I enjoyed your side trip - the scenery is beautiful. Congratulations on your 'steampunk' tag - the collage effect you created with stamping and cutting is great.
