Happy Sunday everyone. We've gone from hot and humid to feeling like late September. The sun is warm but the air is cool and crisp. It's the perfect gardening day, so you know what I will be up to.
Here's a page from my Japan Travel journal that I had a hard time photographing because I couldn't get the book to lay flat for anything. Guess I should weight it down with some books. I have been working a lot on my travel journal lately as I want to get it done before the inspiration fades too much. And now that it is June, I have been home for over a month already.
I am linking up to Gill's Inspired By challenge at Art Journal Journey.
The temple in this photo looks like it is the leaning Tower of Pisa. :)
Here's a link to the the Golden PavilionThe Golden Pavilion, the inspiration for the spread, which I showed you a few weeks ago:
My irises are blooming. The only thing wrong with irises is they need to bloom all summer, not just fo such a short period of time.
And maybe while I am here, a few more Japan photos.
This is a tropical greenhouse next to where they grow the $25 a piece mangoes. It wasn't open yet, but we got to take a walk through with the aboritist as he was very excited to have some science teachers visiting.
There were some beautiful tropical flowers inside.
It was a great stop for me.
Have a great rest of your weekend everyone.

Beautiful Japan pages, your visit there has given you lots of inspiration. Great photos, too. It's still hot and humid here. Hugs, Valerie
I immediately recognized the temple, Erika. I think it's a great spread. The gold really shines, too. It's wonderful that you shared this with us at Art Journal Journey today.
My irises died a month ago, so I am really shocked that yours are just now blooming. Mine only lasted two days and I didn't have time for flower pounding as I had hoped.
What a great experience for you to get to visit that tropical greenhouse. How wonderful to meet and make friends with the arborist.
Have fun playing in your garden.
Its a fantastic journal spread for the golden temple and the iris flower drawings look beautiful. Your garden photos look lovely and so do the ones from the tropical glass houses in Japan.

I don't have any irises, and yours are beautiful! Thanks for sharing the photos :)
I have missed keeping up with your Japan photos and look forward to catching up. You got great shots at the greenhouse!
A fantastic spread, and to my eyes the photos look perfect, (but I know what you mean when something does not want to lie flat). The Japan photos all look great too!
Have a good week ahead, - hope the kids will be alright....
Your pages are just amazing based on this fabulous visit to the golden temple! You captured this so beautiful with all the details and the black/ and white makes is even more asia styled! And I am in awe with those pictures! This green house reminds me in some way of London's "Gherkin" -lol!
Amazing tropical plants wow! Happy new week and may the work week be cheerful and not annoying!
Thank you for the wonderful entry linked to AJJ Erika!
Hugs, Susi
Fantastic Japanese spread Erika - the Irises are really lovely... it is such a shame that the real ones don't last long.
Loved seeing your photos and those beautiful plants.
Thanks for sharing what inspired you and joining in at AJJ.
Wishing you a good new week.

I love them all! Hugs, Lenie
Hot and humid here Erika. We're currently in Slovenia by lake Bled. I love your pretty page, and beautiful flowers.
Wishing you a wonderful week.

I agree, Erika, that it is a shame that the Iris has such a short bloom time. We had a few different colors at the VA house, white, purple, and yellow. The Japanese blooms were lovely to see as well. Thanks for your comments on recent blog posts too. They are always read and appreciated!
What amazing pages 😁. The papers your used with the gold accents and pretty iris look so stunning - I love it! I enjoyed seeing more of your Japan adventures too, you certainly visited a lot of places and the tropical greenhouse is wonderful 😁. I hope you had a lovely weekend! J 😊 x
p.s. sorry I'm late visiting I've been spending time with family the last few days 😁. J x
Lovely art work and beautiful photos...I never tire of seeing flowers of all kinds!
Such pretty papers and I love the irises! Your flower pics are amazing...nothing can beat the beauty of a flower in bloom :-)
What a great experience. Hope you get your memories down before they fade too much!
