Cute Balloons and Art

Hi everyone. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We got cold temperatures this weekend, not quite frost weather but this morning it was 39 degrees F (like 3-4 degrees C). I guess it is the middle of of October and time to get chilly, but just a couple of days ago it was like a hot summer day.
Today I had an afternoon of art. One of the pieces I was able to make is this tag which I want to share over at Tag Tuesday and their challenge buntings/flags.
I started by partially covering a tag with some music paper. Then I rubbed a bit of ink over it. I added some painted cardboard as well the TH found relative and some flower stickers. I also added a bit of cloth trim and some little gemstones.

I was also able to make a page to join Linda's challenge at Art Journal Journey, Creature Comforts, and my creatures are having a dance party.

I used  bit of black ink on the page and then added these fun stickers that I found in the Halloween section at Hobby Lobby awhile back. I drew the disco ball and colored it with silver glitter glue and also added a few little metal stars.
So yesterday I went to visit and celebrate my Mom's 89th birthday. Look at this fun balloon I found for her.
This balloon was about 2 feet tall and I knew Mom would love it. Her dad used to raise beagles so she named this one Sally as it was the last dog her dad had. (I actually remember Sally when from when I was a young child.) When I walked into her apartment building there were a lot of woman in the lobby waiting for lunch to begin and this balloon caused quite a stir. I think many of them hoped I was delivering it for them.
She had a good birthday celebration and my brother showed up too so it was nice for Mom to have both of her kids (and one of her grandkids) there.
And here's the birthday girl. She'll tell you she's 29 again.
And since my brother showed up I got distracted and forget to get a group photo.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.

Beautiful art, and of course, I especially love the beautiful tag you made for tag Tuesday, so pretty. Glad you were able to find some time for art. The balloon ou got for your mom is gorgeous, I can imagine how delighted she was to get it, with so many nice memories attached. Glad she had a happy birthday. Have a great week, it's still unseasonably hot here, and no rain, hugs, Valerie

Your tag and your fun page both so beautiful made - I love how you used the fun stickers--- Thanks so much for joining in at AJJ yet again! You know how much your support is appreciated!♥
And the balloon is wonderful - can imagine that the oldies had to look at it and that your lovely mum loves it specially as there is a sentimental value of beagles !
Julia's boyfriend has two beagles as well (Lucky and Letty)- they are gorgoeus and we had a beagle girl (Twinnie) as a daycare dog as Liyongo was a young boy. They are nearly the same character as Ridgebacks are.(wilful and stubborn)

I love this charming smile as she looked at her birthday card!
She is gorgeous!

Thank you for showing!

Happy new week..
her we have still fantastic warm days here..it's a fantastic October so far.

Hugs, Susi

What a FUN post. Your tag is ingenious and clever. I have some of that same lace, but I removed mine from an old blouse I was deconstructing!

Your Halloween dance party is so much fun. I adored the images, but I was immediately drawn to the calculus equations on the left side of the page. I loved your glittery disco ball, too. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.

Your mom's balloon was SO fun, too. It was so realistic, at first I thought you had bought her a real beagle. She certainly looks good and I'm thinking 29 fits her perfectly.

Your Mom looks so happy in her birthday, it may have been lovely, and this balloon is fabulous. I love dogs. Here the autumn begins today, we have got temperatures around 23-24 ยบ C, and for me, it is the best weather.
I wish you a very nice week, big hugs, Caty

Great tag, Erika, with so much to look at in it. I am always amused at the idea of "found relatives" and wonder if anyone ever recognises them. I certainly recognise the hairstyles from the photos of a previous generation.
I just love your crazy creatures having a good time under the glitter ball. Mr. Greenface looks as if he has been celebrating for quite a while.
Oh my, that balloon!! - terrific! And nice to see your mother on her birthday.

I love your fantastic tag and journal page. A dance party for the creatures sounds a lot of fun.
The balloon you got for your mom looks awesome, especially as your family are dog lovers. I think your mom will have had a lovely day with you all.

what a really wonderful tag Erika! I love the bunting along with that lacy fabric trim at the bottom. You're having the same goofy weather fluctuations that we are I see...
How cool that you found that special balloon for your mother-I've never seen anything like it. Glad she enjoyed her day!

And all I keep hearing in my head is the song "Monster Mash" because that's what I see in your marvelous journal spread for AJJ:):)
