Playtime

Happy new week everyone. Today we had a grey and damp day, and even though the weather forecasters said it was going to be a little warmer, it certainly wasn't the kind of fall day you'd call beautiful, unless grey and damp days are your kind of day.
But for me it was a super day to have a lot of art time.
One of the things I worked on today was a page for Try It On Tuesday and their "black, white and one other color" challenge.

I started by attaching a page out of an old phone book onto some watercolor paper. Then I painted 2 corners with some pale pink paint. Once that was dry I used a hexagon patterned stamp to stamp over the pink. Then I painted the flowers in black and added white centers. When they dried I added pink buttons because they look so much like my flowers. Finally I added pink sequins, the TH found relative and the little plastic happy word. What is it about flowers, even when they get painted them in black, that does make me happy?
Thanks for visiting .
Hope everyone has a great week.

Wonderful page, black and white is always so dramatic, and the soft pink makes it very feminine. Have a good, new week, hugs, Valerie

WOW, this is amazing, Erika. You have a TON of beautiful old buttons. i want to visit your button jar (grin). Those flowers are beautiful, even if they are black. I adore this journal page, and I love it when an old phone book page is used as a background.

I love your Page Erika and those flowers make me happy, they just so cheerful looking.
I've been a very bad blogger lately - just scrolled back and I love your Halloween pages - I've never carved stamps since school, but remember it was fun. Wonderful photos of the shoreline and Autumn foliage in the previous post.
