Happy Friday! We're in the hot and humid weather here in New Hampshire. Perfect for the long holiday July 4th weekend. It's nice for my husband as he has a few days home before he has to go back to work after our little holiday away, and my daughter and her beau are here visiting for a couple of days too. Of course my daughter has been here while we were gone being our dog sitter, but she is back so we actually get to see her for part of this weekend. But probably the happiest members in my household are the dogs as their whole pack is around.
So I am anxious to get back into the art making mode, but I think they will have to wait until everyone clears out later this weekend. I do have several pages from my journal that work for Chris' challenge at Art Journal Journey so today I am going to share one with you.
Today we are going for a boat ride.
I made this page by first using some star paper on the top and cutting some blue paper into wavy lines to make the water. I drew and colored the boat, and then cut it out and added to my page. I also painted the sun and the clouds (and outlined the clouds). I drew and cut out the buoy and used a little string to make the rope that ties the boat to the buoy.
I think the hubby is wanting to go out in his boat today so we shall see what is on the agenda.
Hope everyone has a great end of the week/start of the weekend.

This is a gorgeous page, love the waves and the stars. I hope you have a good boat trip today, and enjoy having your 2 & 4 legged family members around. Hugs, Valerie
So happy sailing page and perfect for theme.
Wishing you and yours great weekend 🐕⛵😍
Love the page. Today would be a perfect day for a boat 🚣♀️ ride. Enjoy!
Love this page - hot and sticky here too, so I'd love to dive into that refreshing turquoise water!

What a fun and enjoyable journal page, dear Erika. Simply wonderful with the stars and your boat. I was really impressed. Thanks for sharing it with us using Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey.
I wanted to comment on the comment you left me about the airport. Southwest is the best. We were lucky to get them to come to Wichita, since we are such a small market. We have no Jet Blue here, but when I flew east before, it was a carrier for Delta out of Atlanta. However, the plane I flew on (Jet Blue) was what I call Scare Air, where the seats are limited and the plane is quite small. I'm not sure Jet Blue flies this far west. Thanks for the great comment, though.
An amazing journal page dear Erika. This is Mixed Media at its best. I love the waves!Sounds like you have heaven this long weekend!Enjoy! Thank you for joining AJJ again, much appreciated! Susi xxx

A fabulous page, love how you did the waves. It sounds as if you are all enjoying a great summer!
Fab page, Erika - very evocative AND managing to get stars and stripes - well done you! Not sure I'd be happy to see the sun and stars in the sky at the same time though, lol - that would be SCARY! Enjoy your summer break!

This has the smell and the sound of the sea. I love the starry sky and the blue paper sea which you have marvellously made look so realistic. The boat is sailing snugly in the choppy sea, having a lovely day out.
You are so good with your art, with so many different kinds of paintngs and mixed media.
A fabulous page. Hope you had a lovely weekend with the family

Fun piece ~ thanks for taking us all on your boat ride!
I really love this piece! The energy, the colors, everything about it. I'm glad you had time together after getting back home... those decompressing days really are worth it!
This is a fun page Erika. I love how you cut the blue paper and made it into wavy lines to represent the sea. Then the cute boat - absolutely adorable. All the elements work together so well to create a very enjoyable page.
Hugs, Nee xx
