Saturday Art and Photos-Tower Hill Part 2

 Hi everyone.  Happy weekend.

Here in the US it is the long July 4th- Independence Day weekend.  Earlier this week we had record highs for temperatures. .Yesterday and today we are record lows for July. From near 100 degrees F (around 38 degrees C) on Monday and Tuesday to in the low 50's degree F (around 12 degrees C) now. And it's raining too.  I feel bad for people who work because they get a long weekend, and it isn't looking pretty.

I'm not even sure what we'll end up doing this weekend, but I don't think our big family shindig at my MIL's on the 4th will be happening.

 for

As rain is not always a bad thing (just on long holiday weekends for those people who finally get some time off), I created this rainy day collage page for Alison's summer countryside challenge at Art Journal Journey. This page is 5x7 inches, made on some blue cardstock as my background and is part of a smaller sized journal I had.  On it I used some printed tissue paper, some metallic daisy-chain paper, a TH  moth, white paint pen, some gemstone raindrops, and a little bronze (but painted gold) charm. Finally I added the wooden ticket. Everything here is from my stash.

I can easily get lost in a garden, and most importantly, be happy getting lost in that kind of summer countryside.

It's been a week since I've been able to share more photos from Tower Hill Botanical Gardens. Between being busy at home and busy online, I finally have a chance to post them today.

This might be flower overload! (But for me on a dark day, it is nice to see some sunshine-smile!)

I love this swirly begonia.

Around the flowers in this plant below, there was some sweet liquid. I'm guessing its an adaptation to attract flies or pollinators.

Above are the sweet scented orange flowers, and below are the tiny little oranges.

These poppies are beautiful. The colors are really pretty.

And late blooming irises are great to see also.

You've got to love a summer garden.

Wishing all of you in the US a wonderful July 4th holiday. And everyone else, have a great weekend. Hope you all have some sunshine and blue skies.

I love your beautiful journal page for AKK, gorgeous. And I am in love with all of those flowers - one can NEVER have too many flowers, that's for sure. I would love to see that garden. Those curly begonias are great! Have a lovely weekend, hope the weather won't be too bad. Hugs, Valerie

What a lovely page Erika - it seems to be what we have had today - some occasional sunshine but mainly rain. Tower Hill Botanical gardens have such a variety of plants there - I suppose that's perfect considering the name !! Have a happy 4th July whatever the weather! Hugs, Chrisx

That's a gorgeous page Erika, I love the quote on the ticket. Great idea to do a wet summer day also, we get plenty of those here in England.
Beautiful flower photos too!
Happy 4th July, hope you have a lovely day.

Your ajj-page is beautiful and the words so true; sometimes when being lost we find some wonderful.
Here we have hade the longest hot weather period ever lastin 27 days. About 25 - 32 C degrees. Our country is very long, so it varies of course.
I wish the USA independence day is great and your family meeting lovely xx

Happy 4th! It's cooler here than normal, too, but that means highs are only in the 80s lol

Gorgeous flowers! You can never get overloaded on beauty like that :)

What glorious photos - and a fabulous rainy page... a lovely collage.
There's no such thing as bad weather when you're out in the countryside, just the wrong clothing! Another lovely visit to the Summer Countryside.

Happy Independence Day to you, too, Erika. Your journal page is stunning. I really like it. It looks like you put a lot of thought into this beauty, dear. The wooden ticket is a nice conpliment, too. Thanks so much for another great entry for Alison's theme.

Your photos of the gardens are wonderful. I would LOVE to buy lavender that overwintered and looked as lovely as that in your photo. You got some incredible shots and some really great close-ups. Those irises are stunning.

I do love your rainy day collage with it's beautiful yellow flower embellished with the Butterfly, those blue gems are a clever little addition, the rain is just as important as the sunshine. The Tower Hill Botanical Gardens look amazing especially when everything is in full bloom. I'm not sure I have ever seen a White Poppy before, not true white as the ones you share, gorgeous display.
I hope you managed to find time to remember the day no matter the weather. Happy 4th of July Erika Hugs Tracey xx

That´s very crazy weather!
Here just too cold.
Love your page, especially the ticket. I´ve never seen swirly begonia before!
I felt a little "assaulted" on the way ;-)
Summer is the best time, so many beautiful flowers!

Gorgeous flower photographs, that must be some Botanical Garden to visit - how wonderful. I too love visiting gardens, more than the houses in them.
That is a lovely page and to remind us all that rain happens in summer (only too often where I live) is a lovely way of addressing the challenge. I love how you have married the various pieces together on that lovely background paper.
Hugs, Neet xx
