Hi everyone. Happy middle of the week to you. I wrote this post yesterday, and I'm hoping this morning will be a more peaceful morning than yesterday was. We thought a battery in one of our household smoke detectors was beeping, but then when we did the battery replacement, we still had the beeping. Waking up to beeping and not being able to find the source is very annoying. 😒 Never mind it was scaring Mr. Pete. In fact, it wasn't the beeping that woke me up but the fact that he jumped into bed and was panting voraciously in fear. Maybe voraciously isn't quite the right word, but it reminded me of a dog scoffing down some food. His panting activity was shaking the bed so much that I knew something wasn't right. Turned out there was a carbon monoxide detector on the bureau in the spare bedroom that was beeping. No,(thankfully), we didn't have a carbon monoxide problem, but I don't know when or how the detector was put there. I didn't even know we had one there. Anyhow, I plugged the detector in, it gave one loud final beep, and then turned green for good to go and the noise stopped. That took about an hour of tracking down the beep. And about an hour later Pete finally stopped panting. Now, it's kind of funny, but yesterday first thing in the morning before the sun even came up it wasn't such a good time.
Today I have an art journal page to share for Sharon's Snow challenge over at Art Journal Journey.

The mysterious beeping in the night must have been annoying to say the least, annoyance tinged with concern I would imagine. All’s well that ended well, however. The ice on the pond looks serene and represents a classic New England experience I would imagine. All the best - David
...and the sun shimmers on the icy lake.
I have never seen ice on a lake, Erika. The temperatures in Greece are not so low. But I imagine it is a great view. Hugs, my friend.
I like that page you made.
The rain in my area has stopped for now.
That would be seriously scary. Yikes. Glad it was OK in the end. The ice lake looks beautiful in that light. And I like your page very much!
Your page is beautiful! What do you do with them when you are done? We would not have the space to display them or room to store them. The icy lake is so beautiful, what an incredible spot!
It must have been really cold if the surface of the lake was frozen. It looks beautiful in the sunlight though. I hope you are having a good night sleep today!
When my daughter first moved into her house a beeping CO2 detector hidden in the furnace room drove her crazy just like that. Battery was low. They can drive you crazy!
Good luck with no more excietemnt

Our fur friends always know what's up, don't they? Yes, the beeping probably would've woken me up as a light sleeper and I'm sure it wasn't fun waking up to a panicked dog! Your blowing snow swirl background is stunning and I love that sweet owl in the corner. Beautiful photos of the sparkling sunlight!
Lovely page and beautiful photos
Eeek, how scary is that beeping.
Glad nothing bad happened (poor Mr.Pete).
Love the owl especially.
The ice looks pretty, but, oh. I can´t wait for Spring. Thanks for sharing the beauty, though, hugs
beautiful page!!!
You really went along with it with the beeping! The photos of the frozen lake look beautiful,
Have a good week! Hug Elke
The beeping and not being able to find the source and Pete's panic must have been awful. Glad you got the problem solved without a health incident. I love the colors of your page, but not the snow and Winter it represents. Bundle up for the end of the week.
That beeping must have been quite scary, pleased everything was ok.
Beautiful photographs of the pond/lake.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
All the best Jan
Such a strange story about the beeping. I wonder how the smoke detector got there and how long it has been there. Poor Pete must have been traumatised for it to affect him like that. I an well imagine how you must have felt to be awaken like that.
Love your snow page for AJJ. Blue is the perfect colour to use for a cold scene and I like the swirls and the speckled effect you have got on your page. The sequins finish it off perfectly.
Hugs, Neet xx
Glad you found the source of the beeping and that nothing was wrong! Poor Pete! When we moved into a house several years ago, the smoke alarm was constantly beeping. It was at the top of the stairs and we had no ladder--no way I was going to try standing on a chair to reach it. So the management office sent someone who climbed the ladder and discovered that the whole thing had expired a couple years before! Then we had to wait for a new one to be ordered and shipped. We listened to the beeping for a week.
I love your page. The tree against that blue background makes my heart sing!
Hope you're having a very peaceful day!
Oh my goodness, Erika! That must have been scary and annoying at the same time! I glad you found the beeping source and that you didn't have a carbon monoxide issue. Whew!
I LOVE your beautiful art journal page. Your swirls really made it look snowy and festive. And I especially like the addition of the owl and tree. Your sentiment is perfect, too. Thank you so much for joining in on the snow theme this month! And I love the gorgeous photos you shared, too. Hugs, Sharon
Oh I do hope it warms up for you, that is too cold! That unwelcome beeping from the detector must have been really strange! Mr. Pete definitely knew something was not right. That's a beautiful wintery page. Ahhh, the Autumn Leaves by Ronna Farrer obsession (of mine). I literally have that set and 9 more by her LOL. I have to remind myself her stuff looked so artsy bohemian back then compared to others. That's the only way to explain my purchases. And I do occasionally still use them and they haven't disintegrated, so win-win! heehee Merry Merry Christmas to you and yours! xoxo
