Friday Photos

Hi everyone. Happy Friday to you. I've had  good week, at least as of Thursday morning as I write this post. One reason is because my husband went back to work (at least part time). Not that I am trying to get him out of the house, but that means he's improved enough to sit at his desk and do some consistent work. 👍 😏  It's good that he is healing so we can get back to regular life.

I'll be linking a up to Nicole's Friday Face Off and also Gillena's Friday Lunch Break.

I'll start today's post with some wintery views from last week when a friend and I went bird watching on Plum Island off of Newbury, Massachusetts. (Here's the other post about that if you're interested: T Stands for an Owl Hunt.) For those of you who are sick of winter (that includes me), sorry for the winter views, but that's all there is around my area.

Above is a plowed a pull off. Below, the snow pile at the end of this pull off was taller than me.

I like this next photo even though the bird isn't all that in focus, but you can tell it's a cardinal.

But you can see some birds and their faces in these next couple of photos. I know there's a blue jay but I'm not sure the type of sparrow is in this first photo.

This trail went out to a marsh view, but our exploration of it has to wait until there isn't so much snow (or no snow).

The salt marsh  looked like the tundra.

And ha ha, the bathrooms were shoveled out, but it was a chilly visit.

Even on the inside.

My other faces for the week are these 2 moochers. They're looking so old, but then again, they are.

I have been knitting some evenings while I watch TV. (I've also been working on a 2025 photo book, and some nights I'm just crashing on the couch and then it's off to bed-😉.) I'm getting closer to finishing my sweater. I hope to finish it before winter is over, but I hope by that point  it has warmed up enough so I can't wear it until next year. 😉

I lightened it up quite a bit so you can see some of the darker colors better.

I'm really liking how it's coming out, especially since I'm making my own design as I go along.

That's all for me. Have a super Friday and start to your weekend.

That is a snowy, wintry landscape, Erika, but in February in New Hampshire that’s to be expected. The terrain looks perfect for Snowy Owls, but perhaps they didn’t visit your area this winter. We took Victoria out yesterday and had a wonderfully cooperative female for her. All the best - David

Now that's real winter! I enjoyed the pics. An excellent sign of progress that hubby can go to work for a while. The sweater looks great. And the fabulous pupsters--what delightful faces. Have a great weekend!

Brrrr. Your comment about the bathrooms being chilly made me laugh. You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. I wouldn't have used that facility. I would have gone looking for a Dunkin' Donuts in the area. 🤣Stay warm today. Are you getting snow tonight? Our totals got upped from a coating to 2 inches to 2 - 4 inches.

I love your two moochers! :) Soooooo cute. Lovely yarn work! I wish I could knit or even crochet. I tried once and I don't know where I put my needles. I started a scarf two years ago. lol I should give it a try again. hahaha Have a lovely Friday and a wonderful weekend. Stay warm. we are expecting more snow and high winds in Ontario today. I think i'm done with winter. lol

Good to read that your husband is doing better and bet he is happy too! Yes, there is not much to post about as far as the weather is concerned because it's much the same here. We have a forecast of some overnight snow into Sat and hoping that doesn't happen as I need to return library books and find a new read!

That is a lot of snow. Not to upset you :) but the last 2 days here it has been almost 70°F OMG like summer. Don't ask me how or why but I'm lovin' it. Now for your incredible photos. These are brilliant. The first one with the bird out of focus is actually gorgeous. You caught the shadow perfectly. I would frame this one. Yes, the marsh does look like tundra. Another wonderful photo. Now how can anyone NOT love the faces of your furry family. Old and expressive for sure. Sounds like you are keeping busy and I'm so happy to read that your husband is back to work, at least part time. I have no words for your sweater. Except, stunning, perfectly knitted, and the colors pop away from the blue. I would love for you to share some knitting ideas and techniques in SITAR. I used to knitt all the time. My mom owned a yarn store in the 1970's and I taught classes. Those days are long gone. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a very nice weekend.

We had a thin layer of "snow" this year for a day, which is VERY unusual in my part of the world. I am so impressed with your knitting skills and that gorgeous sweater you're working on. You and your husband stay warm, take care of your sweet moochers, and blessings!

That sweater is such a WOW! I hope you can get wear of it this winter. Your photos reminded me of my visit to Plum Island decades ago. I went to see the terns. But the weather was MUCH different. (I think I liked my weather better!). Still, pretty magical.

I don't mind snow for a day or two but I wouldn't like it for weeks. I love the sweater, it doesn't look like there is a lot to do to finish it.
