Happy Easter

Hi everyone. I hope your weekend is going well. If you celebrate Easter, Happy Easter, and if you are celebrating Passover, Happy Passover. I hope I didn't forget any other holidays being celebrated this weekend, but if I did, please excuse me.

Yesterday my daughter came for a visit, and we had a nice early Easter dinner. It was good to spend some time with her. Today  it will be quiet, and depending on the weather, it might be an inside day or if the rain holds off, maybe I can get outside a bit and do a few little chores.

In this post I am joining Nicole for  Sunday in the Art Room (SITAR) (which is postponed this week so I won't be joining), Gillena for  Sunday Smiles  , and also Gillena's challenge, Trees Are Awesome, Aren't They?,  at Art Journal Journey.

I wanted my page to feel like spring, and I think it does.

I made this page in my Dina Wakely art journal. All the pages are copies of old ledgers, which meant  I didn't need to do a whole lot with the background. πŸ˜‰

I started this page by taking a brown marker and drawing the tree. Instead of drawing a solid tree, I drew lots of lines to represent the tree shape. Then I used some brown watercolor paint to go around the lines and create the final shape. I  took a green paint pen and added the leaves. I went with light green because spring trees often have that wonderful bright green color to their leaves.

The nest was a punch out image that I added from a set by 49 and Market (and that I've been using a lot lately.). I colored the eggs that lovely robin's egg blue, and I also added a few leaves around the nest so it would look more natural.  Then I added a row of bird postage stamps which aren't actual stamps but were part of a sheet of printed paper I've had a long time in my stash by Graphic 45.

The robin is from a Paper Artsy set of rubber stamps designed by Gwen LaFleur. I stamped, colored and fussy cut it out. The quotes are also from Paper Artsy but from a different set than the robin.  They are from a couple of sets by Alison Bomber. To finish my page, I took some robin egg's blue acrylic paint and splattered a bit of it onto the page.

This past Friday evening the sunset put on quite a show for us. These are not touched up so these are the actual gorgeous colors.

Those bare trees being so dark, they make some pretty cool tree views too. The quotes I added on my journal page would describe them also.

Have a wonderful holiday if you celebrate. Plus  have a great rest of your weekend and start to the new week.

We wish you and Dave a joyous Easter as well, Erika, and hope it won’t be a total rainy day after several days this week. Thanks for the well wishes and I am better now and ready for our first 2026 travel adventure this coming week, cruisin’ on the Mississippi River.

Awesome skies, they have been beautiful lately. A love Spring page and how nice adding the collage of postage stamps with the various bird species. Have a peaceful Easter Sunday, hope the rain hold off.

I think robins have the most beautiful eggs -- that gorgeous blue! I love how Spring-like this page is, it's perfect for Easter!

Your page screams Spring. I love that robin. I have seen robins at Teague's and my niece's house, but not at my house. So for me, it really isn't Spring until I see a robin in my yard. You had the amazing sunset too. I got out there a little too late to get the vivid colors. Happy Easter 🐣and enjoy your day
