Another Monday is Here

So first of all, I've finally started reading a new book-finally-I hadn't literally opened my last book or any book for 2 weeks...just no time to read. But anyhow, yesterday since it rained all day, I scrapepd for hours-another fabulous day in the studio-and then I finished reading my book. So anyhow, here's my newest read! 

 So here's a page from Northern California, Crescent City to be exact and Redwood National Park right south of Crescent City.

Cool sign to show locoation-where we were at and where some of the next pages were set at. I punched some notebook edging on some trimmed down paper. Then I added a tag or 4, some 7Gypsies tape, some twine and some green Viva pearl dots.

At the Crescent City pier, a bunch of snoozing seals on a dock. I distressed the bacjrgound and stamped circles, hand wrote out the words, stamped the  arrows, added some die cut sanddollars and starfish...

And on this page, I added some plaid paper, a tag which I stamped with Hero Arts clouds and a paperbag Studio saying, some 7Gypsies tape and some die cuts plus those Viva pearl dots.

And lastly, this page is first made by stamping a big checkerboard stamp on the background...I added the photo , some Hot Off the Press stickers, a die cut tag, a piece of Basic Grey paper and a die cut tag...plus some more Viva dots.

So have a great Monday... our National Honor Society is putting on blood drive today so I need to be there 2 blocks out of the 4 today...then I need to bring Katie back to school this evening since she has a physic review session for one of her finals this week...probably no studio time today...but since I got tons of time this weekend-that's ok...I guess.

What a Day

Yesterday was an insane day. I ended up getting home very late...my car appointment turned into an almost 3 hour job and work was BUSY and it felt like Friday all day but was only Thursday...plus we had snow showers all day...YUK...along with a thousand other small things...and never mind I knew all day how I had to go into the dentist today and get my abcessed tooth worked on some more since a piece broke off the other day...no studio time yesterday...and I really needed studio time because its my release when things get crazy...

But anyhow...

I got LOTS of reading done at the car service center ...I'm trying to finish up a few books that are half done and I've also started this book which I am enjoying a lot...though its not quite as travel centered as I thought but I still like it and would give it high marks for enjoyable light reading. That was a good thing.

And since this book is about travels, I thought I'd show you a couple more photos from our vacation- did it really happen-- it seems so long ago?

This is the Bottle House in Rhyolite, Nevada- a ghost town (my first). This house was made out of beer bottles and adobe...interesting actually. You can see the whole house here-

and then more of a close up of a wall- you can see me snapping in window refection.

Rhyolite is now part of a free stop-- run by the Department of Interior.

As I said, it was my first ghost town.

And I don't think I shared this spread in my travel journal with you either.

Did I mentioned Dave and I are going to North Carolina in July for a week? One of my good friends lives down there and she's celebrating her 50th out on the Outer Banks so we're going for a few days to see her during her special birthday. Then we'll have a few days of sight-seeing/vacation while we're there. I've been to her house in Raleigh, but never out to the Outer Banks. Looking forward to it. The way yesterday went, I wish I was leaving tomorrow.

And here's the last of my Halloween book. I'm VERY happy with how it came out. Even my mother-in-law who looked at it yesterday during Katie's party really liked it!

Tomorrow I'll show you the photos from Katie's birthday which we celebrated yesterday afternoon. Last night she and BRian went to the movies so Dave and I did too- a totally different theatre- but we went to see RED, which was a fun  and light and funny movie. They went the opposite direction around the lake to see the new Clint Eastwood film about life after death. Was a BUSY and FUN day!

Columbus Day

So here's a tag I've shown before-made it back in the spring-but its appropriate since today is the celebrated holiday- though I know tomorrow is Columbus Day here in the US (its almost mom's and my nephew's birthdays). Stamps are B Line (for the galleon) and Postmodern Design for the word  and something with Animals in the name for the sun-that's a an older stamp and with my cheek still swollen, I can't remember exactly.

Anyhow, its a holiday here- the end of our 3 day weekend, and my cheek is still swollen and my tooth is still draining (to put it nicely) and I need to go shower so we can bring Dave's car in to get worked on. That's it, wasn't the exciting weekend I'd hoped for but did get a lot done on my Halloween book, which hopefully will get to later today too! And I did read a lot of my latest book- not Edgar Sawtelle but this one

which I am very much enjoying. And I've done a few chores here and there...but I guess that's ok. Next weekend I've got more on my platter so to speak.
