Happy Friday everyone.
I have a journal page for you today. I am linking up to Paint Party Friday. Thanks Eva and Kristen for hosting so we can glimpse some wonderful art going on around the world. I am also linking up to Art Journal Journey. This month's hostess is Mary and the theme is maps, which is also fun.
So this page began with the quote which inspired me. I found it in an old FLOW magazine that I use for words and images. I painted the background, then added the map from the back on an old 1950's atlas. The gypsy lady is painted, colored and collaged.
Today I have an arty day planned. Big smile about that. A girl needs a little play after she's had a day full of chores and errands like I did yesterday. But I got a several things accomplished that I needed to do. And we finally have hot water again since we were having some furnace issues the last few days and had to shut it off. That meant we had no hot water and brrrr. Well water is extremely cold first thing in the morning. Yesterday I stood in front of the shower building up the courage to go in.
Anyhow the guy came and got furnace fixed yesterday so today I can have a hot shower. That's as exciting as having an art day.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
And as always- thanks for visiting.

A cold shower is definitely not a good way to start any day. Great page and theme! Enjoy your art day and hot shower!
happy PPF
love your art
much love...
Can I ever relate to cold showers. I did it for two days, so I know exactly what you were going through. I even considered taking a bath and pouring heated water in the tub. Sometimes desperation takes over.
That's a fun journal spread today. What a fantastic find of that map. Aren't you just amazed at how countries have changed and borders have moved? What a marvelous history lesson, if nothing else.
Have a fun art day. Your day sounds like more fun than mine. I'm off to do a bit of shopping at the Asian market, then eat out. Still have to mow my front yard, but it's raining right now, so it will have to wait a day.
great gypsy page Erika! Glad you have your hot water again-I would NOT have been brave enough to get into a cold shower. Have a fabulous art day!
Your gypsy page is great and so much fun to look at. I know what you mean about cold well water since I have a well. Sometimes I jump into the shower before the water has thoroughly warmed up and br-r-r!
The butterfly in the photo is a Legos statue as well as the fox and the chickadees from last week. And the photo/paintings on the wall are also Legos. It is an amazing exhibit. Yes, that is my only grandchild, and she lives in the San Francisco area (Berkeley).
I could easily join you with your gypsy caravan.
Fun and colorful page you created.
I enjoy how inspiration can come from so many different places.
Happy beginning of your first free summer weekend Erika.
