So Sunday afternoon I was lounging in my hammock on my screen porch when I heard a chainsaw in the woods near the house. A few minutes later the hubby comes out of the woods dragging 3 not too big grey birch trees behind him.
I hoped he was going to build me a rustic trellis for my climbing rose. But I wasn't going to jinx it by asking or checking out what he was up to. I had mentioned a few days earlier that the woman who runs the doggy care in town (who has some gorgeous gardens) had this cool white birch ladder.
And happily for me, he actual heard me say that and he did build me this A frame trellis for this rose bush.
Big smile on my face.
Especially since he decided on his own to make it.
These roses look really pretty on it.
So I made a page in my summer journal about this
I'm linking up to Art Journal Journey. This month's perfect summer theme is "In My Garden" hosted by Yvonne.
Stop by and see all the great garden themed art over at AJJ. And thanks for stopping by my blog post too.

You have a very talented husband, what a lovely way to display your stunning roses! I love that you have captured it so beautifully in your art journal, it makes me smile too :-)
Talk about a SLOW internet. I'm in a slow zone, I guess. At least I'm online, so won't complain.
LOVE the new trellis, and does your hubby have a brother who would like to move to Kansas (JOKE!).
It's hard for me to decide which I love best -- the wonderful and creative trellis (so perfect with the bark) or the wonderful and celebrative creative page! Is both allowed?
