Today I can officially say I am all finished with my Iceland travel journal. Big smile on my face!
It was time to get it done!
It was time to get it done!
And I apologize if I've shown any of these page photos before.
I used a tri-fold cover that I removed from an old book. You can see what it look like when I first open the cover and fully open the book.
There are 2 sections with book pages. One of these sections has 2 signatures and other has one.
And the back cover has this useful little pocket.
Here's a few inside pages I haven't yet shown you. At least I don't think I have shown you these.
I loved using these postage stamps to help create the atmosphere and show something about the journey. I bought a huge lot of used stamps on eBay for not a whole lot of cash, and I think they made a great addition to my book. I used stamps before in my travel journal, but this time I went crazy with them.
They work as well as the old map I cut out of an old atlas.
You might have noticed in older posts about my travel journal that I cut up a few travel brochures and used them to make my pages. Along with some postcards and playing cards I brought home.
I know that stamped words are not Icelandic but Swedish.
I'm linking up to Paint Party Friday, because it is Friday and time to celebrate the end of another work week.
Thank you Kristen and Eva for hosting.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

This is WONDERFUL, Erika. The playing cards and postcards tell it all, and you have put it all together so well. I;m truly in awe of this summer journal you created, along with the cover, which is out of this world.
I can imagine you leafing through your wonderful journal in years to come, and thinking about the great time you had there. Well done on getting it finished! Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie and Susi

Oh Erika, I am in awe. Bravo. What a wonderful memory and I love the use of all the ephemera materials from your trip. You inspire me to want to do that with MV -- now to find the time!

Wow Erika!!! This is absolutely fabulous. The postage stamps push this over the top. Wonderful, just wonderful.
Wow, Quite a journal! I especially like the page with stamps. I collected stamps when I was a child. And the simple page with the flag is so beautiful too.

Wonderful completed journal. I'm sure it will be treasured by you and welled looked at in the time ahead.

You are so inventive with your travel journal, no lists of "what you did today" for you. I love the way you mix your art and photos and everything else. The maps and the postage stamps add so much, these tiny stamp paintings have an intriguing magic. That's a fascinating picture just before the "rush hour" (!) bus, it does take my breath away.
I'm going to go and have a closer look at all this, there is so much of interest about your trip and Iceland.
I've always wanted to go to Iceland - your travel journal is fun and whimsical!
