A Doodle A Day

Busy days at work. I need to be out 2 nights this week too, once for work and once for fun. This month has been keeping me hopping.
I am still staying with  my daily drawing journal though. It's become a good habit.
I've been trying to draw less per page. To make a bigger object. To focus on something about the day other than all the events or things I did.
Trying to keep it fresh and expand my  drawing ability.
OK, my cartoon doodling.
I am getting a terrible bulge on the left hand side of my journal. It was suppose to stay flat, but that never seems to happen to me. I don't know what I am doing wrong, maybe I tend to add too many add in on some pages. No issue though. The year is winding down and almost over. It's almost time for a new book.
To fix the problem, I've taken to drawing on a cut piece of graph paper and then taping it in.
I'm using a little paint now and again too.

And a bit of stamping sometimes.
Thought I would show you something that's not Halloween today. So this is what you get.
Happy hump day. It's a wet and dark one here.
Just hoping it makes the kids a little more mellow at school.:) That they will be half asleep.
They're feeling the stress of the end of the quarter. (For that fact, so am I.  I am ready for exams to be over and a new quarter to begin. No new classes but November gives us all a few more weekly breaks with a couple of holidays and a teacher work day. The general feeling for everyone, kids and adults, is that we can't catch our breath.)
Thanks for visiting.

I love the pics in your daily journal, great idea. Poor you having to get up at 5am! I'm mostly awake then, but don't need to leave my bed. Sorry it's so cold, too. Have a fun day and enjoy driving the truck! Hugs, Valerie

I always enjoy catching up on your week and your idea to do one large drawing rather than lots of small ones worked really well, they are brilliant and so detailed! I love the clock, visiting the Florida sunshine and palm tree ...lol 😁, enjoying the walk with you with those fabulous autumn trees and the wonderful sign that you created too - perfect! Happy Wednesday! J 😊

Oh my gosh - your illustrations of your life are so wonderful! A really good thing to do a calendar journal in such a doodle sketching way ! SUPER!
I think weekend is here soon and you should have a bit me time. ♥♥♥
Hope for all of you that the stress of the end of the quater is soon over!
Finger crossed for all kids and for you!

Love your daily drawings. I was taught for any page you put an addition it, you should remove a page or two randomly from the back of the book so it will lay flat

Stay dry today.

The journal looks like a fun project and I enjoyed seeing some of your entries. It’s also quite an overcast day in Nashua with rain forecast much of the day and into Thursday as well.

What fabulous art you created today in your calendar journal. I love the one with too many clothes, and of course the autumn inspired doodles, too. You call them doodles, I call them art. They are fabulous.

To answer your question, when I was out yesterday, the leaves were just starting to turn, but many of them were still green.

I love the idea of a "doodle a day" and your efforts to branch out. It must bring it all back when you look through the pictures, even more than written journal.

No journal ever lays flat unless it's a spiral and even then. Graph paper is a great way to journal then paste in. Having fun with your illustrations of the season. Certainly is dreary today!! xox

Fantastic pages and doodles. I loved that big alarm clock, do you really get up so early? You deserve a medal if that's the time you have to leave the comfort of your bed.
Work sounds busy for you, so I hope you enjoy your fun night out.

Your drawings in your journal made me smile. They are wonderful. Do you really have to get up at 5:15 am? Too early for me...

I think I'm going to make doodle a day a New Year's goal. I love these -- they're happy and I like the graph paper. There's something very fun and immediate about them.
