Triangles and Circles

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. My Saturday has been fairly quiet, and I am feeling better after a good night's sleep. I made some split pea soup today and had an afternoon of art, so no complaints from me.
Here's one of the journal pages I made today. It began with me using up a bit of magenta paint and cleaning my brush. Then I added some scraps of black and white paper around the edge.
I cut some triangles out of some other scrap paper and used 3 sizes of circle punches to punch some circles on some red sparkle paper. I wasn't quite sure to do with them, and finally decided I liked just randomly placing them on the page. They look like objects in traveling in space (red space that is). It's different for me for sure.
This little bird is something I painted back in November for a page that I never ended up making, but I like how he looks on the geometric shapes, so that's where he ended up.
I couldn't find a quote that worked, so I didn't add one.
And that's what you get.
I am going to link up to Alison's theme over at Art Journal Journey. This month it is all about geometric shapes.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to visit. Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

To be honest, I am not really into geometric shapes at all, so not my kind of theme, but I have to say I really like this! Somehow the composition really works and I love those colours. That little bird is just the perfect finishing touch.

Glad you are feeling better and happy Sunday!

Split pea soup sounds heavenly to me so I can just imagine the lovely chilled out Saturday you had with artwork following the soup.
Great use of Geometric Shapes used for Alison's theme on Artful Journal Journey, love the Magenta and the other shades of red you have used. `Of course the little bird has to have a mention, he is so cut.
Hugs, Neet xx

This is lovely. The texture and colors of the shapes blend well together. And the bird is a nice addition.

A fabulous abstract style base for your page Erika, the little bird you added looks lovely and the page is super, it didn't need a quote.
Have a good Sunday.

I like this a lot -- you don't need a quote. It's perfect just as it is!

A delightful page. A quote isn't necessary all the time. This way, the observer gets to interpret the image himself. The bird makes me think of Spring. He's slowly breaking through the cold weather. Can't wait for the bird and Spring to arrive. only 72 more days!
