Yes, it is time again (already) for a new challenge at Try It on Tuesday
Our new theme for the next 2 weeks is HALLOWEEN.
As usual all formats are welcome. We welcome cards, tags, journal pages, dimensional art, scrapbook pages, paintings and anything else you might create that fits the theme.
Today I have a double spread from my Mystery, Mayhem and Magic altered book that I am making to celebrate Halloween.
I began with some Elmer's glue squiggles on the right side. They dried clear and add some nice dimension. Once those wiggly lines dried I inked both this page and part of the left side with some black Distress Oxide ink.
I stamped the hand and the message it is holding as well as the quote. The cauldron I drew and painted, as well as the flames under it. I have to say I was having problems getting these 2 sides to come together. Finally I added the hot pink flames and the hot pink paper tape (on the right) and that finally worked for me.
I'm not sure I needed the old cigar wrapper labels now that I feel the page is complete, but they were attached with glue so there they will stay. The bony hands are die cuts and of course, there is lots of glitter and glitter glue bubbling up from the cauldron.
And please don't forget to stop by the other designers blogs also. There is some great inspiration for you.
I am also linking up this spread to Chris' Hold the Line challenge at Art Journal Journey . There are all those squiggly dried glue lines which work, as well other lines too.
I hope you are having start to your week.
I also can't wait to see you creations over at Try It On Tuesday
Thanks for visiting.

What a gorgeous, playful and delightfully spooky page you have created, love it! Have a wonderful day, hugs, Valerie
Wow, what an amazing Halloween page! The bubbling glittery cauldron with the hands looks fabulous and I love the steel grey background blending into the green/cream too - perfect and such fun 😀. Happy and creative wishes! Hugs Jo x
Oh my gosh Erika.. what a fantastic Halloween page! So much texture and love your spooky elements!!! Have a super week! ((HUGS)) Helen
I always love your adorable Halloween inspired altered journal/book you save for this time of year. I like all the glitter and spooky feel to this piece, especially the right side where the cauldron is brewing and bubbling away. Your use of the glue to create all that texture and dimension is fabulous. There is an air of mystery about this spread, too. Thanks for also sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey.
Clever.
At first I thought the bony hands were a trellis for the green plants to climb! Didn't realize they were ingredients in the cauldron! How deliciously ghoulish. Or should that be ghoulash? 🎃 Enjoy your day!
These 2 pages are great! I love the cauldron and the green glittery flames.
Brilliant pages Erika! Those hands coming up from the cauldron are definitely spooking me! Thanks so much for linking to my AJJ theme! Hugs, Chrisx
Erika, this is a fantastic Halloween spread. They bony hands getting out of the cauldron and the flame underneath make a great scene. I love the squiggles you made with Elmer's glue too. I wish I could find this glue in Greece too, but no one imports this glue here. Hugs,my friend.
This looks like a lot of fun! Love the fire and the bubbling.
Super cool page, I love hot pink flames!
Have a nice week.
I love your mayhem and magic book. This is a fun spread and I really like how you used the glue drying clear for the texture. It works well, even with the scan (which sometimes texture doesn't!)
Oh my, this is a fabulous Halloween journal spread Erika, those hands from the pot look awesome with the textures bubbling away.
I am catching up as always and those photos you shared recently of the woods looked lovely.
Stay safe and keep well.
Yvonne xx
We don't celebrate halloween as much as you do but slowly it has crept up in popularity and our shops are usually (no idea this year as I don't visit them whilst covid is about) crammed full of Halloween fun. I like everything about it however and have my own little display of things at home that go up each year.
So I just love your pages.
I like the background you have made, it reminds me of stone, like a headstone in a graveyard and it contrasts so well with the flames and the band on the left side. Those glue squiggles are great and all add to the spookiness of your page. That message that the hand is holding is fabulous and what a good idea to use the glitter to the green bubbling liquid coming from the cauldron.
I do like the spooky hands on the right hand side.
Fab - Hugs, Neet xx
A fabulous page Erika, I love all the different textures you created with the glue, painting and glitter. I can just imagine someone trying to get out of that cauldron, but to no avail. A really spooky spread.
Love the fabric dying samples, It's a long time since I did that, but it was such fun.
Have a great week.

Oooo, I love "spell on me"!
