Hannah and Her Purple Crayon

 Hi everyone.

Life has been busy for me in the last few days. My daughter came home Saturday evening and is leaving today. She's on vacation from work this week and decided to spend a few days with us. We have been busy watching a couple of old movies, a couple of interesting documentaries as well as LOTS of walking. Never mind I am on off to an early dentist appointment this morning for my tooth.  It's been fun, except for my tooth,. I am ready for a day for myself though. That will come tomorrow.

Although I do wish she could do this more frequently as it's good to have some fun with her.

So today I have a page for Chris' HOLD THE LINE challenge at Art Journal Journey .

There is a children's book called Harold and His Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson.

In this book Harold draws lines with his purple crayon and creates some images. He used these images to make a wonderful imaginative  story for children of any age.

I thought I would make a page in ode to this book.

Meet Hannah and her purple crayon.
I sprayed by page with purple inks. Then I used a dark purple watercolor crayon to make thick lines. I added a punchout girl and some word stickers.

That's all for me today. I need to get ready for the dentist.  Hope your week is going well.

A fantastic fun page Erika, I wonder what mischief Hannah and Harold would get up to is they were to play with crayons together.
A super take on Chris's AJJ theme.
Stay safe.

First, I'm delighted to read you got in to see your dentist. That's great news.

Second, I am in awe of your amazing page you created for Chris's theme. I love that you channeled your inner child and took time to play, while reading that sweet book. You KNOW I love this entry you created for us at Art Journal Journey, dear.

A wonderful inky page Erika! I love the colours.
How I miss spending time with my son and daughter like that, it sounds like you both had a lovely few days together.
Hope the dental visit goes well, and isn't too painful.

Hope all went well with what is my favourite place to visit - NOT! I dread a dental visit!
However, I love your page and what a great topic. Loving the purple and the riot of colour. I had not heard of Harold but he seems a likeable boy and I am glad he now has a female companion in Hannah. Must be all the "H's`" today as I have used two names beginning with that same letter.
Hugs, Neet xx

The book has such a great concept and it is perfect for the line theme. Your nod to the book is fabulous and she looks like she is having a fun time playing. Love the direction you took on this!!!

So lovely to have time with your daughter - I so cherish the time I have with mine. Hope the dentist trip went well - those are never fun! Hugz
