Hi everyone. Happy weekend. I have no big plans this weekend, but I have lots of chores I can do. Notice I said can, not would. Smile.
Also thanks to everyone who wished me a happy anniversary yesterday.
Thought I would share a bit of autumn color with you. These photos are from my recent morning walks. Still not a lot of red colors this year, but the foliage, which has definitely been behind, seems to be really starting to turn. The yellow is still beautiful though.
And my bees are doing well. For those of you who like the bees, here's a few recent photos.
If you look carefully in this next photo (towards the bottom left) you can see some larva hatching. They look like little ghosts with big eyes. Their heads aren't quite out of their honeycomb holes.
This block (below) is a pollen patty I have been adding to the hive to help provide pollen, which is a protein source for bees. I will put more of these in the hive over the winter when it gets closed up. They definitely have been munching away.
The bees are still out getting pollen from flowers also, but the amount of blooms has dropped off a lot. It's suppose to cool off quite a bit next week with chances of frost, so the blooming may just about over.
My heirloom chrysanthemums are looking amazing right now. I've mentioned before these were originally from my grandmother's garden, then my mom's and now mine.
And the colors of flowers on the one hydrangea that bloomed are so varied.
I hope you enjoyed a little bit of New Hampshire color today.
And enjoy the weekend also!

I think our colour levels are just about where yours are, but the weekend looks like rain throughout, so no doubt the leaves will get battered from the trees. Happens every year! I am very happy to see that your bees are doing well.
New Hampshire never fails to show off beautiful Fall colors. Your flowers are equally gorgeous. So glad to hear your beehives are doing well. Fascinating to take a peek inside the hive. Last day to enjoy the warm weather!
Colorful (here still no change) and ohhh your bees! And your little ghosts, awwww...
And your last pic... OH BOY! Beautiful.
Beautiful New England! ☺️
Good morning I really enjoyed all of your photos-and nice to see the bees again too-enjoy the warmer fall weather. we are much cooler now-was hoping to put off turning on the gas heat as long as possible-I miss not having our wood stoves now Happy weekend hugs Kathy
Beautiful, colourful pics of your walks. Your flowers are wonderful, too. And of course I LOVE to see the bees. And the 'babies'! Today was sunny here, so lots of bees were buzzing around the sticky bushes in my neighbour's garden. Here the trees are getting more and more colourful, I love it! Have a great weekend, have fun. Hope your hives are getting better. Look after yourself, hugs, Valerie
Thanks for taking us along on this colorful walk, Erika. we are not quite there yet for lots of color in the nearby park, but hopefully by next week. That said, we have seen some areas in northern parts of the state that are bursting with color. I am always amazed by autumn in New England, no matter how many times I see the leaves change. Your bees look like they are thriving. How much honey do you expect to harvest this year?
So beautiful and rich with colours!
Erika this is a beautiful post. Your bees look strong and healthy. You are taking good care of them.
You have such an amazing area to walk and to live. You are so blessed with all that color and nature surrounding you. Your hydrangea is to die for, too.. So glad your bees are doing so well. Thanks for sharing the beauty of your area, dear Erika.
Such beautiful photos Erika! Lovely to see the bees!
Happy anniversary!
Gorgeous colours! Here in Donegal, we don't get much colour in the trees, because the wind blows them off before they can turn, mostly :-( But we do have incredible hydrangeas in so many colours. I've noticed in the area we just moved to there seem to be more of the deep reds and purples than in other places where there were some, but not this many. They take my breath away!
Beautiful photos of this beautiful fall season. I just realized that I haven't seen a honey bee in years. They used to always be in my flowers , but no more. Funny??
You're getting some great fall color! I think the bees are fascinating and always enjoying hearing about them and seeing photos. It's a delight to have heirloom plants from previous generations :) Sweet!
Oh so beautiful Erika! Love those multicoloured leaves! I love to see how hydrangeas change, we have white one just below our window and it has taken on a pinky hue. We saw the bee hives at Dunham last week and there are far less bees going in and out now - probably spending more time out looking! Hugs, Chrisx
Happy 33rd And The East Coast Sure Does Produce Magical Colors - Been Following Along But Unable To Communicate With My Friends - Sending Positive Vibes
Cheers
Such a beautiful morning walk! One day I hope I can see the beautiful fall colors in New England. Our fall is very pretty, but by far not as spectacular as the colors in the Northeast. Oh, and happy belated anniversary.
