Hi everyone, including the T day folks. Happy new week to you. And it's time for the last T Day of February already. Be sure to stop by Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog where we share a drink and catch up.
Last week it seemed like every errand that needed to be done, needed to be done. 😒 I ran out of bird food. I ran out of dog food. I had to go to the dentist for a cleaning and the allergist for my shots. Miss Maddie had a vet appointment. I ran out of olive oil and a few other kitchen staples that needed to be replaced. Etc. I don't know if that happens because of bad planning/timing on my part or not. Does that ever happen to you? Where everything needs to get done at once?
I am also ready for some walking weather. I am missing my walks. But other than the beach (and the tide nor wind always cooperate), the side walks are icy, my driveway is icy, my road is icy, the trails are covered in snow and ice...Good thing I had a bunch of errands to run last week because otherwise I wouldn't know what to do. Ha ha ha! 😏 Seriously, it was a good art and reading and even cleaning in the house week in between all my running around.
And it was a good movie week.
My friend Deb noticed that one of the theaters was running the first 4 Harry Potter movies on the big screen as special showings. She's never seen them on the big screen, and I haven't seen them on the big screen since they were first released 20 or more years ago She asked if I wanted to go, and yes, I did. We went to the first one two weeks ago, and then last week we went for a movie marathon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, one movie a day.

Sounds like a fun movie binge! -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
We are fans, esp. the books. Can't remember when I went to a movie...must have been a few decades ago..
Salt! Thank you for the reminder, we ran out of salt!
Oh, yuck, I really would not want to endure your winters. Is it extreme this year?
What?! Harry Potter is from 20+ years ago?! I admit, I never saw/read any of this, please don´t hate me...
If no one sits in front of me and if not too loud I like the big screen, too. Once we were at a 4D-cinema (Star Trek) - that was fun!
Hmmm, now I crave Popcorn! Last time our now "lost" boss payed, so I have no idea of the price... And yes, butter, please! Have a great T-Day and week, hugs
I haven't been to a "real" movie in a long time. I miss them but so pricey now. I like having errands all the same day -- then I can have more mellow days later!
Actually, I seldom go to one store for one trip. I combine my trip to correspond with trips to the grocery store, the hardware store, the post office, etc.
Your movie binge sounds like you had fun. Like Iris, I never saw/read any Harry Potters. I agree the drinks and snacks cost more than the movie. I DO love theater popcorn, but I want extra butter! Thanks for sharing your trip to the movies and your water and popcorn with us for T this Tuesday, dear Erika.
How wonderful, it must have been fun seeing them on the big screen ❤️. Your drink and popcorn must have added to such a magical experience as well - perfect! Wishing you a very Happy T Tuesday 😊. Hugs, Jo x
...my granddaughter and I went to see A Complete Unknown and she had some popcorn with her butter!
I stopped going to movies in theaters at the pandemic 5 years ago and never went back! I never bought the popcorn, anyway …Our popcorn popper makes it truly fresh— not necessarily the case for theater popcorn at our local places. I definitely remember going with our granddaughters to see each of the Harry Potter movies as they were released. Now we own the DVDs and watch them from time to time.

Everything seems to happen at once. This week is filled with appointments and I need to go grocery shopping (ugh!) So fun to see movies you really like on the big screen. I haven't been to the movies since before the pandemic. We never got concessions as you said they are so expensive. Instead, we would go out to dinner after the movie. I liked that better because no cooking for me and awesome lunch the next day. Happy T Day
Well I love HP movies! I actually just did a rewatch over xmas of all of them, and when my nephew was young, we went to see them all (he's 27 now lol) at the cinema!
Since this last year I haven't been able to drive myself anywhere, I am always worried about running out of stuff and may have become a bit of a hoarder of some things "just in case". Happy T Day!
oh I meant to ask, were you posting from your phone as your blog post link is a mobile one, which displayed on the left of my PC screen. "?m=1" this bit at the end is the mobile version, taking it off the URL give the full screen version :)
These movies take me back when the kids were younger and how they loved them! I was lucky to have taken the boys for each one as they came out...I think I have a few photos of them at the movies...those were fun times that I miss. Lot of butter for the popcorn please!! :)
Dear Erika, how lovely, my husband and I really like Harry Potter. We have read the books several times in German and also in English, and we have seen each of the films on the big screen and also several times on TV. Cinema is of course better, more impressive - but I don't know of any of the films being repeated in cinemas here...
My husband and my daughter love popcorn. I'm more of a potato chip or tortilla chip person 😋
Happy T-Day!
All the best, Traude

Like you, Erika, I love the big screen better than just our TV screen, but nevertheless we stopped going to the movie theatre. It's just too expensive and I deeply dislike how trashy it always looks after the movie. Who do people think they can just throw their stuff anywhere and the whole place looks like a pigsty? Thankfully I seldom run out of everything at the same time, I'm pretty well organized when it comes to restocking. That doesn't mean that I never run out of anything, that happens occasionally. My mom was very organized and I guess I've got that gene from her :). Happy T day! Hugs - Carola
What a binge! Did your friend like it? I have never seen the harry Potter movies, not on TV or in the theatre, but it's always much more interesting to view a film on the big screen.
I haven't been to the movies in years. But when I go to the UK this spring I hope to see some film.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
I am an HP fan! I love the books and watch the movies every time they come on TV which is pretty often. My favorite time watching them was when we rented a HP themed airbnb and watched them. I always skip the drinks and snacks too - I don't want to pay $20 for popcorn and a small drink. Hope it warms up soon so you can walk. We have been in the 60s - yesterday we decided it was time for short sleeves when we walk. It was in the 30s last week and who knows what it will be a week from now.
Errands always seem to come at once for me too. Last we were out of everything all at once and the grocery bill was high.
Happy T-day sweet friend. Hugz
I can totally relate to those moments when everything seems to need attention all at once—it's like the universe conspires to keep us on our toes! 😄
I’m glad you had the chance to catch the Harry Potter movies on the big screen again; there's something magical about experiencing those films with all the surround sound and energy of a theater. I can imagine jumping at all the right moments! And yes, movie popcorn is a classic treat—simple and delicious without the butter!
Hope the weather warms up for your walks soon! Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing your T Day adventures. You are invited to read my new blog post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2025/02/our-pre-valentine-visit-to-pitlochry.html
Hi there! It sounds like you’ve had a busy week! I totally get what you mean about everything piling up at once—sometimes it feels like life just throws a ton of errands at us all at the same time. It's great that you were able to get so much done, even if it was a bit overwhelming.
I hear you on missing walking weather! It can be so frustrating when the sidewalks and trails are icy. Hopefully, spring will come soon and you can get back to your walks.
What a fab excuse for you two to meet up so often during the weekend with that binge on Harry Potter. Is it really so long since I saw them on the big screen?
Aha, now know what you meant about the popcorn in my blog the other day.
I just long to get out walking again, my back has put paid to that for a bit too long. Can understand your frustration.
Hugs, Neet xx
Love the Harry Potter films - much beter in a cinema too! We managed our first proper walk last Friday! A very belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
