The Dancer

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday.
It seems strange not to have any snow in the forecast for several days, but I will take that kind of strange. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ‘ The weather folks are saying that  the temperature will be a bit higher and closer to the freezing point this weekend, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed ๐Ÿคžthe pattern of the last few weeks of almost constant winter weather has changed. However, I know winter isn't over in my area yet so I'm going to enjoy the less brutal weather while it's here. ❤

Today I have another page for Vicki's Music challenge at Art Journal Journey I'm also going to join Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog for their February #112 challenge.

My page today is made with lots of scrap papers layered on the background. I then did some stenciling with a bit of white gesso. The accordion player is cut from a Ciao Bella pad. I added a bit of music tissue paper.  The dancer is a chipboard image that I painted. The quote is an ancient one from Post Modern Designs. And to finish, I outlined the page with a Sharpie and added bits of cloth ribbon/trim in the top left and bottom right corner.

There's my page and I hope you like it. That's all for me today.

A ballet dancer is immediately identifiable, whether she is painted, a cardboard cut-out or a pottery add-on. It is always beautiful.

Such a stunning page with your dancer! She looks so elegant against your background! I love the gesso over the stenciled background as it makes it look dreamy! The accordion player looks like a cool dude too! Fabulous quote and page! After today, our temps are supposed to higher too! Stay warm!

P.S. Thank you for your wonderful inspiration using my "MUSIC" theme for AJJ my friend!

Oh yes, that's right, dear Erika, if you don't hear the music, you could actually think dancers are crazy ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅณ I've never thought about that...
Your page is very harmonious and the dancer is an extremely elegant and fairy-like figure. I like it.
You're right, enjoy the weather when it's less unfriendly - who knows what will happen next. We still haven't had any snow in our region around Vienna, just cold (and that's less work than shoveling snow ๐Ÿ˜‰) but today I'm mostly posting photos from our winter vacation, and luckily there was snow.
You wrote to me in your last comment "Isn't retirement fun because you can do all these fabulous things-and travel too?" - I can only agree with that completely ๐Ÿ˜Š - it's the best job I've ever had!
All the best, Traude

I just forgot: I wanted to write to say thank you for answering the prize questions. Oh, that means you have Swedish ancestors on your father's side, how nice! I love Sweden (even though I've only been there once) and when I was young I was the biggest fan of the Swedish ski racer Ingemar Stenmark ๐Ÿ˜Š. Of course our fathers had very different lives - but they definitely got great daughters ๐Ÿ˜
