Weekend Art

HI everyone. Happy Sunday to you.

We're in the snow  and then (supposedly) we'll be changing over to an icy mix again at my house. This weather is stuck on repeat so many places this winter. What a weather year 2025 has been so far. I hope wherever you are you are enjoying your weather, be it snow, cold, or maybe if you're south of the equator, a hot summer.

For my area, it's been lots of cold and now lots of snow.  I wish I had been able to get a photo of this sign I saw outside of a business. But I was driving and the traffic was too heavy to stop. The sign said "PLOW....SHOVEL....SAND...REPEAT!"  That says how this month has been so far in my area. 😏

Because of the winter weather it has been a good art year so far. ❤Today I'm sharing this page I made for Vicki's Music challenge at Art Journal Journey.

This is a pretty simple page, but I like it. I started by stamping the quote in the middle of the page. Then I stamped the instruments around that quote.  The instrument stamps come from 2  stamp sets, an older TH set and also a just as old set from the long defunct Flourishes clear stamp company. The musical notes are also from that Flourishes set.

I painted the instruments with watercolor paint, and then, to finish my page, I splattered a few colors of watercolor paint over my page.

I'm also linking up to Gillena's Sunday Smiles.

Have a super rest of your weekend and start to the new week!

The winter weather in my area is pretty mild...we do get snow sometimes and it's fun if I don't have to shovel the snow :-)) It's 0C degrees here and pretty sunny...a really good day. The music page is lovely!

Sounds like our weather is the same as yours. And I'm sick of it! (Rick, on the other hand, is elated.)

Here the cold will hit tomorrow. But this is normal, sadly! Ugh!
Your artwork so speaks to me... I get not done what I want to... It´s just not as pretty as yours ;-)
Let´s look forward- Spring must be on the way, to a cozy rest-Sunday, hugs

It's not exactly pleasant, so much snow and cold. The different musical instruments in your journal page are great! A beautifully thought-out page. Take care of yourself and I hope you have a lovely Sunday! Hugs Elke

Sunday here in my part of the UK has been very cold ... out earlier I had my thick coat, gloves and scarf on! Brr!
Have a good new week ahead.

All the best Jan

I love your journal page, and this has been a rough winter this year for sure. The storm when we traveled through Missouri stayed mostly north of us-so I was able to clear it off pretty easy-but now we are bracing for the arctic negative temps most of this week-ugh stay safe and warm Hugs

We go from unseasonably warm to wintry mix. Very confusing. Have a great day.

I hear you on the weather. Same here, though probably not so much as you. Cold. Snowy. Relentless. Spring can't come fast enough!

I almost bought that TH stamp set because of the drum, lol. Still don't have one but I can find a digital one now if I need it. I like your page with all the instruments and that sentiment reminded me of band class in school -- I can remember when we all first began people would miss their cue in the music because they were too fixated on blowing out their horn or reed mouthpieces, lol. Some apparently had issues with spit and I don't blame them, glad I was percussion! heehee Hope you can stay warm and cozy, xoxo

What a fun quote! I love that and your little heart musical notes too! All of those stamped instruments are so fun and reminds me of the marching band for the kids' school days! Stay warm over there...it's getting VERY cold over my way for the next several days.

I love the quote that sits central on your page. And what a fabulous array of musical instruments surrounding it. You have been very subtle in.your use of colour and it suits the page so well, perfect!
Not so your weather - sorry you are having it so cold, at least you don't have to go out now you are retired.
Hugs, Neet xx
