Hi everyone. Happy Friday. Another week is quickly wrapping up.
Today I have some photos from a late winter walk I took last weekend, and I'll end this post with a journal page. That page is for both my Home Sweet Home challenge at Art Journal Journey. and is my face for Nicole's Friday Face Off. I'll also be joining Gillena's Friday Lunch Break.
With some warm March weather, we've not only been getting a lot of melt but the frost is coming out of the ground. That means a lot of MUD. Last weekend the temperatures hovered around freezing during the day and were even colder at night, so the dirt roads solidified a bit, at least enough so I could walk.👍
Puddle ice made some interesting shapes.
Some lichen.
Here's some signs of last year and a sign that nice weather is coming.
Today's photos are from the walk I took on the road out from my mother-in-law's home. She lives way down this road where it narrows, and it is now even more narrow from snow plowing. Her house is closed for the winter and the driveway isn't plowed, so we parked in a pull off area. My husband took the dogs and went trekking in to check on her house, and I headed down the road for my walk.
I need a face for Friday Face Off, so let me share another nostalgic journal page. I'm dedicating this one to my Nana because she loved to cook and made some really fantastic food too.❤❤❤
This lady is a Tim Holtz image, not my actual Grandmother.
Two of my prized possessions are her recipe cards and her cast iron skillet. I was very close to her and we used to do all kinds of things together like go to the movies and even take a few trips. I still miss her a lot as she was also someone I could talk to while growing up.
Have a super rest of your day and a nice weekend ahead too.

My spouse's grandparents were all killed in WW2, so he never had the pleasure of anyone other than his parents. So I shared my two grandparents with him, so he would understand how important grandparents were.
Our first son was named in honour of my late, beloved grandpa.
Those wintry conditions are slowly giving way to muddy paths here too, but soon the woodlands will be carpeted with spring ephemerals and that’s something to look forward to. All the best - David
I love the walking path and the art puddles of ice, too.
...a beautiful walk, we had our first spring walk in the park, yesterday.
Our winter has kinda returned after a few days of spring weather...it's cold, but at least not rainy.
That is really a rural area! The puddle ice is beautiful, but I really can´t wait for Spring!
A wonderful page and memories! My maternal Grandmother moved in when my Brother was born. "Sadly" he looks exactly like her youngest son, so guess who lost out a bit... stressing the "a bit", she was great.
It was really weird - we hadn´t seen this Uncle in decades (not kidding). My Brother had his name written on a sign at the airport.
SO unnecessary. He really was my Brother in "older"! A bit scary, those genes... Have a great Friday hugs
What a perfect kitchen full of delicious food and beautiful details 🥰
Great walking scenes as well, my friend 👍🏼
Happy upcoming weekend to you and yours 💐🐕

Lovely walk!
Being outside and walking is one of my favorite things...even in the cold! I know pets love it as well! Your gma's kitchen is too cute! I love the details down to the lace border and the food set up!
That is a beautiful page, Erika, and such a nice memory of your grandma. It is so important to have someone to talk to while growing up. And having her recipes and cast iron skillet is very special! Do you use the skillet as lot?
I forgot to wish you a good weekend with further melting and warming up of the ground. Hugs - Carola
Happy Friday! What a pretty walk. Exciting that the frost is starting to melt but the mud can be a pain. My kids tracked in a bunch of mud this week and we had to have our carpets cleaned to get it out haha. Hope you have a good weekend!
Looks a nice walk, I enjoyed your photographs.
Wishing you a happy weekend.
All the best Jan
Such wonderful photos. The ice puddles are just too cool. Your art is amazing and there is so much detail. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a nice weekend.
